CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company, is looking for an Automotive Technical Training / Recruiting Project Manager to work primarily from home with frequent travel.


The Automotive Technical Training & Recruiting Project Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Delivery of technical training and recruiting services for a major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in the luxury and performance automotive segment within the USA.
  • The supervision of technical trainers, assistant trainers, technical recruiters, and administrative support staff located at multiple regions / markets and OEM training sites, as well as delivering occasional onsite after sales training and recruiting support at dealerships and special events locations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the technical training and recruiting staff and the OEM.
  • The planning, execution, and control of all contract support personnel under the guidance and direction of CALIBRE’s Director for Industry Management Services and the OEM Client.

  • Technical Expertise- The ability to provide automotive service, personnel management, budgeting, scheduling, organizing, and leadership technical expertise to deliver a superior client experience.
  • Communications – The ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and how they add value to proposed and delivered client solutions. Must be capable of managing and supporting a diverse group of people (clients, employees, management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders) with competing interests and priorities.
  • Human resource Management – Must be skilled in team-building and team supervision. Must demonstrate the ability to prescribe standards and performance expectations and enforce them; ability to coach/mentor, develop, and train subordinate team members; and, the ability to work closely with peers to reach common goals and objectives. Must have the ability to manage a large technical recruiting operation in accordance with applicable HR statutes, policies and procedures.
  • Project Management – Must demonstrate the ability to manage all aspects of a project: technical delivery; financial management; client deliverables; and records management. The ideal candidate will deliver the skills to plan, execute, track, and control a project with minimal supervision. The Automotive Technical Training & Recruiting Project Manager must be capable of: ensuring compliance with business rules for operations; managing contracting and sub-contracting requirements; and, managing project risks and issues to include developing mitigation plans.
  • Financial Management – Ability to manage a P&L in accordance with corporate financial goals and objectives; maintain control of costs; prepare and manage a budget(s); track revenue; conduct profit analysis and achieve profit targets; manage subcontracts and purchases; prepare monthly reports, invoicing; and track accounts payable and receivable.
  • Business Development – The ability to identify and develop new business opportunities. The ability to identify and shape new opportunities, develop proposals, and provide capture management for small to large business opportunities.

Required Experience

  • 10 or more years of technician recruiting and training experience at the automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or large dealer group-level
  • 10 or more years managing OEM or large dealer group sponsored service technician recruiting and development programs, to include sponsored military Veteran and vocational technical school programs in support of dealer operations
  • 10 or more years developing and managing OEM or large dealer group training analytics, classroom and workshop utilization efficiency, technical fleet management and technical training facilities
  • Five or more years of managing an OEM or large dealer group operational budget in excess of $2.5 million
  • Five or more years managing service technician recruiting programs provided by contracted external consultants / business partners
  • Proven familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Capability to create and edit PDF documents


Desired Experience:

  • 10 or more years managing and coordinating technician and body shop personnel training
  • Five or more years of managing a US based OEM training operation in compliance with a major parent foreign manufacturer headquarters
  • Five or more years of managing technical delivery and development teams as well as developing strategic plans for improving technical training and delivery methodologies
  • Five years of experience achieving OEM level customer service global targets for service technician and body technicians
  • Five or more years of project management experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
