We currently have a need for a Telecommunications Project Manager to track the financial progress of every project from start to finish. This position will be based in our office located approximately 25 miles east of Birmingham. As the Project Manager becomes more comfortable with the duties required, we may consider a work-from-home scenario and more flexible work hours at some point. The ideal candidate will have experience with software programs such as Bidmaster, Fireworks, SAP Financials, Jobtrac, Oracle, Quickbooks, etc. The Project Manager will initiate the financial portion (Estimates, Purchase Orders, Etc) of each project and track the financial piece of the project all the way through to final invoicing. The Project Manager will look at the profitability of each project and identify any issues to Management and evaluate potential improvements. Experience in Telecommunications Outside Plant Engineering and Construction is REQUIRED. The Project Manager will be expected to examine Outside Plant drawings in order to determine what billable “units” will apply to each project.
Candidate must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements:
- Have 5+ yearsâ experience in OSP Engineering and/or Construction
- Experience with outside plant field engineering in fiber optics
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and schematics
- Detailed understanding of communications construction processes in what it takes to place underground fiber optic cable plant
- Must have basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Email, etc.) with an emphasis on the programs listed above
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check and drug screen and provide a minimum of three WORK-RELATED references
- Dependable, ORGANIZED and motivated with a special attention to detail is required
- Ability to work well with others. You will be a part of a team trying to reach the same end goal and MUST be willing to work well with others in a professional, polite and courteous manner.
