Blue Origin is looking for an accomplished project manager to help lead our supply base to design, build and deliver hardware faster, with continually higher quality. We accomplish this by building state-of-the art software, and analyzing data to uncover patterns for quick decision making. We design systems that track millions of physical parts and complex manufacturing activities in remote locations. We build systems that process massive amounts of data and engineering tools that enable rapid design and iteration. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will work with Blue Origin engineers and our key and critical suppliers to solve complex problems in our supply chain. Youâll evaluate commercial systems where appropriate and help design custom systems where necessary. Youâll be responsible for understanding our applications and serving as the primary point-of-contact for critical supplier-designed spaceflight hardware. We put a strong emphasis on hands-on technical ability, so the capability to understand, communicate and work through both analytical and engineering problems is key. The Supply Chain Project Manager is an extremely challenging, and influential role, as you will have the opportunity to influence change both internally and at our suppliers. This role will report to a Sr. Manager in the Supply Chain organization and be deployed as needed to support programs . This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Responsibilities :
- Providing Supply Chain leadership and support from project initiation through delivery for major subcontracts
- Managing cross-functional relationships and teams and coordination of efforts across the company
- Partnering with key stakeholders to define strategy and management approaches
- Managing both internal and external requirements and establish operational expectations for performance
- Understanding and application of risk management, focusing on the trades between cost, schedule, and quality and deploying tools to manage all three with our suppliers
- Eliminating barriers through critical problem solving, and deploying solutions within the team
Qualifications:
- Experience with supply chain management, logistics, or manufacturing operations research
- 5+ years as a technical project manager, engineering manager, or similar role â strong technical background is a plus
- Ability to understand ambiguous problems, and innate ability to work with minimal direction
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proven ability to leverage data in decision making
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
