POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Manager is responsible for spearheading the development, implementation and communications of Architecture Roadmap Strategies to ensure scalabity, reliability, security, supportability of technical systems and achieve Business, IT performance, and budgetary objectives. The Sr Manager leads cross-functional teams to define Architecture roles for strategic and tactical projects ensuring alignment to Architecture Roadmap. Additional responsibilities include providing guidance to IT development teams including following through on annual performance review and collaboration. Participates in evaluation and prioritization of customer/user requests. Oversees feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and the establishment and implementation of new or revised programs. Assigns projects and work assignments to team members and directs activities, providing functional guidance and completing individual tasks as needed. Ensures projects are completed within designated periods and tracks and reports progress to upper management. Participates in cross-departmental IT initiatives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage a functional team in one or more sites. Work to develop employee’s skills; evaluate performance, provide feedback and oversees resolution of employee relations, issues.
  • Consults with business and IT management to evaluate user requests and clarify objectives for projects and initiatives.
  • Develop annual initiatives and specific deliverables for their team. Oversee determination of feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current policies, procedures, and functions.
  • Completes projects and initiatives as assigned, coordinating their team resources and resources in different departments.
  • Provide assistance to IT team members needing their expertise and knowledge. Provide onthe-job training for new of less experienced team members. Mentors team to improve their understanding and skill and ensure they are familiar with resource materials
  • Works with departmental leadership to develop and implement strategic work plan goals. Tracks and periodically reports progress to senior management. Assist the Budget planning and management for their department.
  • Works with IT Management team to analyze operations and efficiency of the IT group and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in special projects or task forces as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-12 years with a Bachelor’s degree; 6-10 years with a Master’s degree; 4-8 years with a Ph.D.; 14-18 years of experience with no Bachelor’s degree.
  • General Knowledge of Microsoft OS – XP and MS Office.
  • Technical Knowledge in Cisco ACI, Infoblox DNS, AWS, CI/CD, Openshift/Kubernetes, Cisco Nexus Platform, ASR platform, SDN, VPN, Service Providers/Carrier relations, Colocation, Cloud Exchange/Hosting, Automation and Application Architecture is preferred.
  • Excellent Leadership, planning, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills; Thorough knowledge of Architecture’s framework, procedures, and practices
  • Solid Engineer or developer background; Strategic thinker with ability to formulate plans, strategies, and outcomes
  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex Architecture issues with innovative solutions
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions; Extremely detail oriented; Strong customer services focus
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and make independent decisions
  • Ability to present Architecture concepts and ideas both verbally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors and technical staff to ensure that all of IT and its business clients understand and support the Architecture direction
