Summary:

The S VP of Operations is an influential senior leader responsible for creating, enhancing and operationalizing efforts that support the day -to- day needs, as well as strategic direction, of the business. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the SVP will lead established teams and directly oversee tactical and strategic integration of new agencies and national project management. They will also serve as a key collaborator, influencer and driver of operating platform and data management improvement efforts and retail management best practices.

Ideal candidates will be results-focused, adept at creating and implementing strategic plans that support operational needs and possess exceptional executive presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Develops a deep understanding of current and future business needs and works with the COO to establish operational priorities
  • Serves as a key extension of the COO in executing critical business projects and initiatives across the organization
  • Responsible for ensuring budgets related to project management and operational priorities are in line
  • Acts as a strategic thought-partner, collaborator and respected peer to the COO and senior operational leadership team.
  • Works closely with IT team to operationalize our commercial strategy
  • Works closely with COO and Regional Managing Principals to identify and implement best practices in key operational areas
  • Works closely and collaboratively with Regional Managing Principals (RMP’s), internal corporate departments and newly acquired agency leaders to deliver comprehensive new agency onboarding and assimilation strategies that lead to more effective integration of offices and clients. Specifically:
    • Interview newly acquired agencies to gather feedback and establish measurable baseline performance metrics such as customer satisfaction ratings, retention of key accounts and new sales success throughout assimilation period
  • Develops and execute program to ensure data integrity, including:
    • Benchmarking
    • New sales/pipeline reporting
    • Sold business
    • Lost business
    • At risk business
  • Assumes ultimate accountability for ensuring operational progress and enhancements are made
  • Works collaboratively with national organic growth leader to develop and roll out new client service models.
  • Determines opportunities for outsourcing through offshore efforts
  • Establishes streamlined and consistent business data packages to assist leaders in driving and growing their businesses
  • Helps create and foster a management culture of metric-driven success accountability
  • Serves as the key liaison and collaborator with IT to continuously leverage technology that drives improvements in business operations
  • Approaches leadership of established and large teams with a servant leadership mentality

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to be persistent, diligent and unwavering in pursuit of goals
  • Proven ability to form strong and collaborative relationships that can be leveraged to drive success
  • Ability to run with the ball without a lot of ongoing guidance
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets and objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify business challenges and opportunities and create plans to capitalize on those opportunities
  • Strong operational, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to not only strategically plan but ensure tactical success
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 25-35%

Education, Training and Experience:

  • 12+ years’ of progressive operational leadership experience; required; 15+ years’ preferred
  • Employee benefits industry experience, preferred
  • Experience integrating new business acquired through M&A, highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree , required; Advanced Degree, preferred
