The Senior Director of Business Development, must be a collaborative, confident, decisive, and seasoned professional who can perform in a high profile position while achieving aggressive growth goals. The successful candidate identifies growth opportunities aligned with company goals and supported with strategic/tactical capture plans. The opportunities within the DHS space focus on Yona-Brixtel’s core capabilities including Agile SW development (DevOps), Project Management, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Cyber, and Human Capital Technologies.
The Senior Director integrates teams across the firm to converge on priority opportunities, and drives contract and task order wins. The Senior Director executes plans to build relationships with clients and partners by marketing to executives, program managers, procurement staff, business developers, line managers, and other key industry points of contacts. Candidate is an energetic, hands-on leader and support member who consistently represents the firm’s interest and the interests of its stakeholders (employees, clients, and partners); provides exemplary customer service and solutions to internal and external stakeholders; ensures interaction and personal actions are consistent with firm’s core values; and is motivated and driven to achieve firm’s growth and market capture targets.
Responsibilities
- Expand Yona-Brixtel’s presence in the DHS and National Security space. Leverage existing company footprint to further support, develop, and integrate solutions across the DHS. Expand and build the business portfolio so it has long-range sustainability – with particular focus on growing new full and open business.
- Build and/or maintain client, partner, and vendor relationships, and ensure overall satisfaction.
- Support corporate business development efforts including utilizing Salesforce, account planning, capture management, and participation in proposal development.
- Work in tandem with senior executives and capture team to plan and coordinate strategic activities that tie back to tangible opportunities.
- Develop a pipeline of opportunities that demonstrates continuous progress toward achieving annual targets.
- Actively lead strategic and business development initiatives including opportunity identification, deal qualification, capture management, client engagement, teaming arrangements, pricing, win strategy and hands-on proposal development.
- Cultivate and grow client relationships with agency personnel and key influencers that result in net new business.
- Implement business development strategies designed to win business and increase revenue.Align business development strategies and tactical execution to achieve key metrics in revenue, backlog/awards, submits and pipeline.
- Work closely with Project Managers to build account strategies.
- Participate in authoring proposals section (past performance, corporate capabilities).
- Continuously enhance and support a positive company image and culture as an industry leader in federal contracting and our service offerings.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in a business, engineering or a technical related field of study from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 7 years of developing DHS/National Security portfolios aligned to Yona-Brixtel’s core capabilities. Specific agencies of interest include, CBP, FEMA, TSA,DHS and Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
- 10+ years of current experience selling to National Security entities.
- Experience working with pipelines, participating in pipeline reviews and specific annual quotas.
- Must have some knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and a thorough working knowledge of the Federal procurement process and preferred contract vehicles.
- Self-starter, an entrepreneur, a “builder”- proven experience starting, building, and managing successful business areas.
- Exceptional communication skills – oral and written.
- Firm handle on the art of negotiation with partners and vendors that leads to maximizing win-win for all involved.
- Identifies appropriate teaming strategies to increase Pwin, develops strong, sustainable partner relationships, negotiates teaming agreement terms, and addresses any concerns with partners throughout partnership.
- For smaller deals performs both BD and Capture roles. For larger, more strategic deals, works with Capture team to increase Pwin.
- Demonstrates sense of urgency and responsibility to solve problems, address concerns, and manage risk.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with CBP, TSA, FEMA, DHS HQ or other related National Security market segments.
