We are looking for an experienced and high-energy Sales Director. The primary function of this role is to accelerate the growth of sales. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Sales, the Sales Director is responsible for directing and leading the Corporate, Group, Youth, Group Sales e-Ticket and Catered Event sales teams. This position will focus on the annual sales plan and strategy, client development, managing key relationships and identifying new target markets and sales products with the goal of meeting and exceeding annual attendance and revenue goals. Additionally, the Sales Director will be responsible for identifying market trends, industry best practices and overseeing sales training and development.
The successful candidate will be energetic, persuasive, well organized, and able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team of sales professionals. Define and execute sales strategies; business development, marketing and sales support programs to maximize sales and profitability. Qualifications

  • 5+ Years Related Experience in the theme park, hospitality, entertainment or travel industry
  • Clear understanding and experience with multiple sales channel business models.
  • Direct sales experience and a strong sense of professional integrity.
  • Demonstrated sales management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage expense and revenue budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Comfortable in public presentations.
  • Superior organizational skills that is proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, hires, develops and leads the sales team.
  • Creates the annual Group Sales plan and goals for each segment and each sales team member; oversees the execution of the plan with regular reporting to leadership.
  • Holds the overall responsibility for the Group Sales revenue target.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of operating budget(s) for area(s) of responsibility; makes overall adjustments throughout the year to meet department specific goals.
  • Spends time in the field with all sales personnel for skills evaluation and provides training and feedback as necessary.
  • Manages direct reports’ performance, addresses disciplinary situations, and provides significant input into promotion, demotion, and termination decisions.
  • Supports all corporate initiatives for sales development and other global sales programs.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
