Senior Management Team

In anticipation of the upcoming retirement of our current President and CEO, SAFE Federal Credit Union is announcing the search for a replacement. Headquartered in Sumter, SC and serving the Midlands, SAFE has assets of over $1 bil and over 120k members. Given investments in branches, online and mobile banking, and a core conversion, we are poised for growth. This is an amazing opportunity in the heart of the Southeast for the right collaborative and visionary leader in the credit union industry.

The successful candidate will work with the senior leadership team and the Board of Directors to define and execute long and short-term strategies, plans and objectives aimed at serving our current members as well as meeting our growth goals.

Key responsibilities include: leading the organization in terms of culture and values, leveraging technology to effectively and efficiently serve our members, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations, being innovative in providing value added products and services to our membership, establishing and meeting key financial goals and objectives, effectively communicating and collaborating with the Board, his/her colleagues within SAFE, the communities we serve, and peers in the industry.

The Board is seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration (or an MBA) as well as a minimum of 10 years of relevant senior managerial experience within the credit union industry. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical along with strong analytical capabilities and a track record of success given the person’s working knowledge of all operational areas of a credit union.
