RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all day to day Management of Finance area of the Customer Service and Operations, including Month-End Closing, Financial Statement, and Review/Analysis, Budgeting/Forecasting/Financial/Operations Reporting and new process and report development.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders and business user teams.
  • Compile and review financial information to prepare and execute entries to general ledger accounts.
  • The Financial liaison between the NSO and NY Finance Groups.
  • Ensure compliance to the company’s accounting policies/procedures (including SOX).
  • Monitor actual expenses and report material trends and variance. Assist in developing, recommending and implementing corrective action when appropriate.
  • Create ad hoc reports that provides cost information to management not supplied by general accounting system as required.
  • Review business practices and processes, creating partnerships with both business clients and program management peers to drive alignment of business strategy, business processes, and supporting solutions.
  • Lead project improvement initiatives as required.
  • Must be able to independently communicate with the user community, using advanced verbal and written communication skills including facilitation leadership and presentation development.
  • Document system processes, reports and system functionality.
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/Accounting/Business required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting required.
  • Previous knowledge/experience with general cost accounting and financial reporting required.
  • Excellent analytical skills required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment is a plus.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Analytical / organization skills with sound problem resolution, negotiation, judgement and decision making skills required.
  • Experience with Smartview and Oracle preferred.
  • Strong technical skills with experience using Microsoft Excel and database management software required.
  • Ability to excel in business situations by adapting plans and approach required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and all management levels required.
