The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.
The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Family and Community Supports (FACS) Project Manager within the Division of Health Promotion.
Under supervision of the Family and Community Supports (FACS) Deputy Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of various projects. Responsible for coordinating project team activities, identifying appropriate resources, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Providing project management for various projects, grants, contracts, and/or any specialized functions.
- Planning, designing, executing and monitoring designated projects within the FACS and MCH section.
- Assessing risks, analyzing critical paths, establishing work breakdown structures, coordinating project design, project schedules and appropriate business processes.
- Coordinating with other departments, divisions, outside agencies and vendors to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Assisting FACS in developing policies and procedures; designs programs and operational manuals as needed for program.
- Analyzing information to determine nature and extent of customer requirements and concerns.
- Conducting quality assessments, operational procedures, and ensuring that change management procedures are implemented.
- Utilizing communication plans, project charters, process maps and other project management tools to assist the FACS team with program implementation and monitoring.
- Working closely with contractors that build and manage the Georgia Home Visiting Data Management system to ensure optimal system operations.
- Assure timely reporting for federal and state reporting.
- Serve as business owner to ensure proper invoicing, billing and payments are completed for assigned contracts.
- Communicating effectively and diplomatically in both written and verbal communications.
- Serving as subject matter expert and organizational resource in assigned areas.
- Completing work within the required time frames.
High school diploma OR GED AND One year of professional level experience related to the area of assignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND four years of experience in project management
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Project, Visio and Excel
- 2+ years in public health
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, oral and written
