As part of the Group Technology Office, your mission will be to transfer Best Practices across the group, challenging units in term of performances and supporting them for defining and implementing appropriate projects of improvement.
Job Duties:
- Assess regularly performance of steelmakingpractices within all units, identify gaps to world class references, contribute to development of action plans and follow up implementation progress on some sites
- Ensure operational and technical knowledge available in ArcelorMittal is fully leveraged to support Units
- Ensure high performing Units push the boundaries of operational and technical excellence
- Review progress of assigned shops in a regular and structured way.
- Regularly undertake steelmaking costs and reliability benchmarking analysis and provide technical support to assigned shops together with related segment
- On request of sites support preparation, planning and effective execution of major HSM upgrades or new lines
- Run together with a team of worldwide experts, audits on site checking application of Group Steelmaking standards and making recommendations
- Contribute to some segment initiatives like Technical days
- Contribute to the animation of HSM community at group level (KMP, webmeetingsâŚ)
- Contribute to assess the best available technologies and new technologies in your field
- Contribute to R&D programs
- Contribute to group training programs focused on your field of expertise
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences
Minimum Requirements:
- Economic background would be appreciated
- 10 years of experience as steelmaking engineer in operations or support roles, covering both primary and secondary steelmaking and casting. Knowledge of EAF steelmaking would be an advantage
- Solid understanding of steelmaking process and improvement tools (PDCA..)
- Open-minded change manager with good analytical and problem solving abilities
- Willingness to travel and able to work with different cultures, be flexible and respectful
- Advanced English is a prerequisite
- Solid relationship management and influencing skills, coupled with written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
- Initiative, ownership and accountability
