Location/Division Specific Information

The Director, Supply Chain Management Excellence is part of the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) which unites deep scientific expertise, a collaborative culture and rich resources to deliver the lab equipment and consumables that our customers need to achieve their scientific goals – quickly, reliably and safely. Our smart lab solutions make it faster and easier for our customers to focus on what matters most – delivering answers and innovations that save and improve lives. This position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

How will you make an impact?

The Director of Supply Chain Management Execellence will be responsible for developing and executing Demand Plan and inventory plans that will enable the division to meet sales and service objectives in collaboration with other members of the supply chain, sales, marketing, and customer support teams to achieve these objectives. This position will strengthen the interface between the Business Units and Supply Chain to achieve integrated strategic and operational planning that supports the business growth, profitability and sustainability while optimizing processes through:

  • End to end customer focus: Improve LIFR “line item fill rate” as a measure of our ability to better respond to end-customer needs and to fulfill end-customer demand
  • Cost efficiency: Improve operating cost and working capital indicators by improved planning processes
  • Flexibility: Improve Service Level end to end to reflect our responsiveness in the face of changing marketplaces.


What will you do?

  • Lead SIOP process for LPD – Develop 4 Pillar Industry Best Practice approach and drive adherence to process to achieve results of LIFR “line item fill rate” and inventory at target levels (Deliverable – key topics that are not resolved throughout process)
  • Lead Global demand planning strategy for LPD and drive tools for divisions for transparency and gap analysis vs financial commitment for global picture
  • Lead channel customer communication strategy to meet customer expectations and increase transparency of inventory
  • Accountable for customer service, inventory, and forecast accuracy
  • Drive the statistical forecast process
  • Run statistical forecast (optional or in region)
  • Consolidate the demand picture globally
  • Assure bridge between demand plan and financial plan
  • Process owner of demand planning process
  • Drive regional demand analytics
  • Accountable for customer service, inventory, and cost
  • Owner of the SIOP process
  • Drive analytics for process improvements along the end to end supply chain
  • Project management of improvements within supply chain
  • Accountable for the SIOP dashboard in power BI
  • Drive inventory analytics and improvements
  • Assure SIOP cascade is lived at sites, commercial, and global level
  • Accountable for customer service
  • Assure communication of lead times ex hub or ex. site to the customer (incl transport lead time and other time components)
  • Align demand plan with channel customers internal and external
  • Be point person for customer service, internal channels, and major external customer on any supply related topic (e.g. production delivery status, new product introduction date, etc.)


How will you get here?


Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Business Logistics or a related area or equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant supply chain management experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an SIOP oversight position.
  • Significant experience with operative finance and Supply Chain KPIs, strong business acumen and problem solving capabilities, with direct, applied experience in planning.
  • Proven track record with a continuous improvement methodology (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma).
  • SAP, Oracle and applicable supply and demand management tool experience would be an asset.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across intercultural and cross-functional teams
  • APICS certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in GMP, regulated environment, preferred (Pharma, Med Device, etc.).
