This position will report to the General Manager and will be located in Memphis, TN.

How will you make an impact?

This individual assumes full responsibility for Distribution Center (DC) and Warehousing operations. This individual is ultimately responsible for delivering a best in class operational culture, unprecedented service levels to clients through strategic development and continuous improvement of their areas of accountability. This individual will also be responsible for the financial performance of the DCs, actively engaging in new business pursuits by providing creative, innovative solutions, pricing and then performance against that pricing via P & L performance, revenue targets and cost controls as well as managing to yearly corporate performance objectives. This individual will continuously review processes, performance measures, technology and staffing to identify efficiency opportunities and operational optimization.

What will you do?

Distribution Center Efficiencies

  • Establish clear priorities for each facility in support of organizational and strategic objectives and reprioritizing as necessary to meet objectives
  • Establish clear priorities for Quality Program in support of organizational and strategic objectives and reprioritizing as necessary to meet objectives
  • Identify needs for technology, work with IT to design technological solutions and integration requirements and lead the implementation of new technology and processes in the Distribution Centers
  • Insure staffing levels meet optimal production levels and cost savings
  • Insure fulfillment schedules and client target dates and schedule deadlines are met
  • Ensure with any startup endeavor that the services proposed are the best blend of efficiency, cost-effectiveness and outstanding service levels
  • Review measures according to established schedules
  • Report Executive Critical Measures to Executive Team monthly
  • Conduct Monthly reviews with Executive Management to ensure profitability targets are met

Strategic Planning

  • Provide yearly analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of and to the distribution centers and warehouse operations, as well as Quality Programs, consistent with the strategic planning process and target dates.
  • Establish with Executive Management the strategic direction for the Distribution and Warehouse Operations.
  • Establish with Executive Management the strategic direction for the Quality Program
  • Lead warehouse operations teams to provide strategic plan drafts to the Executive Team in support of the Organizational Strategic Planning.
  • Provide Quarterly Strategic Plan Implementation Reviews and offer recommendations for change as the year progresses.

Distribution Center and Account Profitability Management

  • Partner with finance to develop forecasted profitability analysis for any new business endeavor and manage to the profitability targets established.
  • Identify profitability issues and propose resolutions to Management

Project Management

  • Audit change management endeavors to ensure proper risk assessments are completed, project plans are developed, project prioritization, status and progress reports are being communicated effectively to staff and Executive Management.
  • Review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
  • Ensures that all project plans are complete in that they have specific goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.

Employee Management/Development

  • Keep the pulse on customer satisfaction and assume full responsibility for team performance, employee reviews, team development, coaching and counseling to achieve outstanding performance
  • Motivate and develop a team focused on outstanding customer service
  • Strong representative of the management team and promote a high quality work culture to achieve maximum results
  • Responsible for regular management updates that affect both positively and negatively the overall health of the organization
  • Identify issues, resolve issues or at minimum present alternatives for resolution to their management
  • Leverage and coordinate internal resources and knowledge of the full PSI team to deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction levels
  • Establish clear priorities for each team member in support of departmental, organizational and strategic objectives and reprioritizing as necessary to meet objectives
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoices to clients with payment according to terms.
  • Leverage and coordinate internal resources and knowledge of the full PSI team to deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction levels

Leadership

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

How will you get here?

Education

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Logistics and Transportation, Supply Chain Management or similar focus

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Distribution Center Management Experience including Ambient, Refrigerated and Frozen storage and processing
  • Experience in the Life Science and Healthcare industry preferred, ideally with a supply chain focus on Pharma and Samples
  • 3PL business experience, with both direct customer and financial (P&L) responsibility
  • Proficiency and success in change management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
  • Team Leadership and Relationship development
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
