Job Summary:
The COO is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the owner to establish long-range goals, strategies, business plans and operating policies. In particular this role will play a key role in business development, driving sustainable product and service sales, resulting in profitable growth. This position manages the senior executive team and is responsible for the performance management and input regarding hiring of senior-level management. The position reports to the owner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization’s fiscal performance in conjunction with the owner and CFO.
- Participate in the development of business plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Develop strategies and partner with marketing team to drive new business.
- Create strategies to win back patients and grow clientele to âeliteâ customer levels.
- Evaluate and advise on long range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends. Also provide strategic input on financial decision making affecting the organization.
- Delegate and oversee the improvement of the budgeting process through education.
- Collaborate with CFO and owner to develop appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Act as an advisor on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter.
- Direct the development and installation of operating procedures and controls, to promote communication and information flow.
- Insure all activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Establish capable management succession for functions or business units falling under his/her responsibility. Provide professional and personal growth opportunities for individuals.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Proven track record in scaling up prior operations â preferably in the medical industry, but could also have been in retail or the restaurant industry.
- Strong financial acumen and attention to detail
- Proven track record at driving profitable sales growth.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term results with longer-term planning.
- Integrity and high value on ethical and moral behavior regarding clinic operations, patient confidential information, and overall clinic interactions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to create a welcoming, friendly, and effective team-based environment in the offices.
- Strengthen the culture and core values as the organization grows.
- The ability to create and maintain a strong sense of collaboration and team effectiveness.
- Critical thinking and time management skills to evaluate different solutions and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence and relationship building skills, with the natural orientation toward servant leadership.
Education/ Technology:
- S. in Business Management, Operations, Marketing or relevant field required.
- MBA desired.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior operations management role, including:
- Responsibility for revenue achievement
- Coaching and developing talent
- Proven ability to motivate a multi-unit team to achieve goals
- Sales experience strongly preferred, to drive profitable growth.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment: people and systems.
Travel:
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. This may change increase with time as the business grows.
