SUMMARY: This position is responsible for leading nurses within an assigned business unit through their day-to-day activities to ensure successful outcomes in the production environment. Responsibilities include providing clinical guidance-to include case management of illnesses and injuries and general health education and coaching-and monitoring all aspects of health and wellness at Tyson Foods locations. The position will manage compliance with all local state federal and company-specific policies and procedures while serving as a direct link to operations leaders in the assigned business unit. He or she will participate in BU healthcare strategy development and will be responsible for meeting key performance indicators as established by the company. Additional responsibilities include: building and adhering to an annual budget, coaching and mentoring nurses within his or her span of control, conducting performance reviews and making decisions related to compensation, and serving as a conduit between diverse organizations within Tyson Foods (e.g. operations, safety, human resources, etc.) on team member health issues. This position will be responsible for implementing new technology and processes in an effort to increase the effectiveness of the company s occupational health outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Completion of registered nurse program and current nursing license; associates or bachelors degree in nursing preferred; certification as occupational nurse preferred.

Experience: 7 plus years of progressive experience in occupational health with previous supervisory responsibilities.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required to include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word .

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal written and negotiation skills required. Must be able to relate to all levels of the organization-from the executive level to the plant floor.

Special Skills: Statistical analysis problem-solving knowledge of hazard control systems thorough understanding of recordkeeping requirements and systems political savvy conflict management and delegation and the ability to hold a team accountable for achieving results.

Travel: 12 plus trips per year.

Supervisory: This position will be responsible for a significant number of nurses within the assigned business unit. Must be willing and able to work through conflict and model Tyson Foods 5C’s (Caring, Candor, Commitment, Creativity, and Collaboration) in all interpersonal interactions.
