Role Purpose
The Vice President of Enterprise Program Management is responsible for managing a portfolio of programs and projects and for supporting business unit leadership in their efforts to oversee, manage and leverage the entire life cycle of these initiatives and associated investments to optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Working with Chubb executives and business units, create a comprehensive roadmap for various strategic initiatives aligned and prioritized to deliver and optimize Chubb’s strategic and business objectives.
  • Create of business cases that demonstrate the benefits, costs, financial metrics, risks and constraints associated with each opportunity Create and manage a consistent and effective approach to project management and investment.
  • Design develop, and critique proposed project plans based on sound judgement and analysis.
  • Establish a governance framework and project management structure to deliver the necessary project capability to support delivery of the road map and business objectives.
  • Identifying resourcing needs in line with the portfolio plan and manage project resources.
  • Deliver a complex series of related projects, effectively managing their interdependencies and allocating resources to support prioritized opportunities and manage the associated resources.
  • Create and foster high levels of transparency through effective identification, escalation and remediation of timelines, budgets, issues and risks.
  • Managing interdependencies, resourcing and any proposed changes which may affect project priorities.
  • Monitoring the quality of project outputs to ensure strategic objectives are met
  • Conducting portfolio meetings and attending associated project meetings where required
  • Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders and ensure effective communications strategy, while listening for, uncovering and resolving potential conflicts or disagreements about project priorities.
  • Ensuring portfolio resources are appropriate to enable the necessary operational and strategic capability.
  • Ensuring that portfolio colleagues and subordinates to understand their roles and accept their responsibilities in line with the agreed governance process.
  • Ensure effective reporting of all projects to enable stakeholders, sponsors and management to make appropriate decisions
  • Provide line management, coaching and guidance to develop the effectiveness of the portfolio team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • BS/BA degree required. Maste’rs/MBA preferred
  • 10+ years project management experience – preferably without IT concentration (e.g. Process Improvement, Strategic Planning, Product Launch, etc. in addition to IT program mgt.)
  • At least 5 years of experience with a well regarded consulting firm in project management.
  • Direct project management experience.
  • Experience managing project teams.
  • Experience working with insurance or financial services with globally distributed operations.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and P&L experience
  • The ability to grasp complex issues and understand the operational impact to the business and resulting plans of action.
  • Performance management orientation; can use data to drive decision making .
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work successfully in both direct reporting and matrixed work relationship models with global resources
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies including business acumen, influence, inclusive team leadership, ownership and integrity/courage.
