Vice President – Clinical Services

Autism Spectrum & Other Behavioral Health Disorders

We have been engaged to recruit a Vice President – Clinical Services (VP) to design, develop, and deliver a robust system of evidence-based, multi-disciplinary and integrated treatment for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other behavioral health disorders. Home-based in Cherry Hill, NJ, First Children Services (https://www.firstchildrenservices.com/) is a leading private provider of services whose core mission is to achieve Life Changing Outcomes for Exceptional Kids. This new VP role will provide clinical leadership to guide the development and provision of industry-leading care to children, and education & support for their families, through a wide range of home, school and clinic-based services. First Children Services’ dedicated workforce of over 300 teachers, therapists and support team members currently serves over 1000 children and their families through relationships with more than 70 school districts across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, all major health insurance and managed care companies; and Medicaid.

Key programs include:

Ø First Children School in Fanwood, NJ – educating students with multiple disabilities including those who are medically fragile, developmentally, intellectually, or physically disabled, deaf or hard of hearing, and/or visually impaired.

Ø The Transitions Program – a small group, center-based, home instruction program for students in grades 5-12 who are not able to attend their public schools due to anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenge.

Ø Behavioral Health Services – a range of home and center-based ABA and other behavioral health assessments, therapies, skills development and school-based behavioral and mental health

Ø School District Services – behavioral consultations, school staff training and certification, school and home-based ABA therapy services and behavior support staffing services

We’re looking for a clinical visionary – a professional who can state-of the art integrated/accountable

treatment system and has the operational savvy and motivation to design/develop/build and support it The Vice President – Clinical Services will be primarily responsible for:

  • Establishing First Children’s initial diagnosis and treatment philosophies
  • Driving continuous improvement of First Children’s treatment and family training practices by

incorporating recent industry research and discoveries

  • Establishing clinical staffing requirements including the qualifications and clinical competencies

of members of the clinical and family support teams

  • Providing clinical supervision to programs and practitioners
  • Designing and implementing training programs to provide ongoing education and continuous

improvement opportunities for First Children’s clinical, educational & support staff

  • Helping to build referral relations by discussing First Children’s treatment model with potential

referral sources (pediatricians, psychologists, schools, assessment & referral organizations, third

party payers, etc.)

  • Assisting in interviewing and hiring key staff including clinicians and clinical/program directors

and/or managers as appropriate

  • Collaborating and consulting with First Children’s executives and management regarding the

integration of clinical, administrative and financial policies, plans, operations and performance

across the company

Ideal candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate clinical discipline and be a BCBA or BCBA-D. The professional should be an Autism specialist who is an established private provider/practitioner with a solid reputation. Additional qualifications include program development and operational leadership experience; clinical supervision expertise; be a change agent capable of guiding clinical transformation, building on the strengths of existing professional/paraprofessional staff while implementing best clinical practices; have an entrepreneurial spirit; and, demonstrate the ability to tolerate typical uncertainties associated with program development, start-ups and operational challenges.
