Reporting to the VP of Applications Engineering responsible for ServiceNow’s IT Operations Management application, this leader will head a development team of ~50 spanning Santa Clara and Bangalore.

We help our customers gain complete visibility across all of their infrastructure and applications, deliver business service health with AIOps-driven alerting, insights, and automated remediation and optimize service delivery and spend. Our product line consists of three applications – ITOM Visibility, ITOM Health, and ITOM Optimization – all powered by a single, consistent data model and service context through ServiceNow CMDB.
This individual will be a high potential technology leader who understands technical and business realities and can articulate both a near-term action plan and a long-term vision and exert positive influence on the rapid achievement of milestones. The Engineering leader will have a track record in the delivery of software products with proven experience in building, managing and motivating a strong distributed team of web developers and software engineers responsible for developing and deploying web-scale, SaaS-based solutions according to customer and business requirements. This role will have visibility at the senior executive levels of ServiceNow and manage key mission critical programs that impact the division and other teams across the company. This leader must be a true cultural evangelist who will advocate for both the division and company’s forward-looking transformation.
Central to this role will be helping to support ServiceNow’s charter to transform the business applications industry by focusing on:
- Leading the team for driving innovation that bring unique solutions and values for ITOM
- Coaching and mentoring a first class development team to maintain current product velocity as the company scales.
- Asses the engineering team and make any necessary adjustments to fully align organizational goals with core competencies.
Key requirements and accountabilities for this role include:
- A thorough understanding of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) stemming from both application and web scale company experience.
- Experience with complex architectures and helping make technical trade-offs.
- Technical depth in the areas of data centers, multi-cloud managements, management protocols, and front-end development.
- Strong underpinning of data infrastructure concepts as it relates to leveraging high performance cloud systems.
- Values and has experience with implementing lightweight engineering process
- Obsession to deliver quality solution with sense of urgency to stay ahead of market and competitions
- Experience building a SaaS application product utilizing a combination of modern DevOps tools (Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, JIRA, Bamboo, etc.)
- Experience working with centralized SaaS platform teams (common components / microservices architectures)
- Domain experience in the area of multi-cloud monitoring, provisioning, and management.
- Experience developing products which depend on an eco system of integrations to feed data and drive activity, including creating real world solutions that account for the complexity of depending on data sources outside of the products direct control.
- Demonstrable leadership experience inspiring and motivating globally distributed teams
- Drive all aspects of recruiting including, but not limited to, attracting great talent and retaining a highly skilled, proficient engineering team
- Ability to communicate complex topics to multiple audiences in order to generate a common roadmap between sales, marketing, product management, and engineering

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
