I. Key job tasks of the general manager job description

1. Planning & Admin

  • Provide leadership to the organization by assisting the business owner and directing the management team with the development of short term plans that support long-range and annual strategic plans. Evaluate and report progress on the implementation of these plans.

2. HR Management

  • Employee development and training, hiring and terminations;
  • Policy development and implementation;
  • Formally document job descriptions and implement employee performance reviews for every job;
  • Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly Meetings –preparing agendas, document accomplishments, plans in process, milestones, new objectives, etc.

3. Operations Management:

Coordinate and monitor the work of all employees.

  • Monitor performance and implement improvements.
  • Ensure the quality of service provided.
  • Manage the quality and efficiency of all employees.
  • Provide training and support.
  • Managing the key system for the clients’ homes
  • Manage customer breakage and property damage resolution
  • Understand and master the logistics of scheduling and be able to make changes throughout the day to ensure customers are getting cleaning teams to their homes at appropriate times.

4. Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing:

  • Oversee all phone and electronic communications with a customer base
  • Follow up with all customer requests and all related customer service issues
  • Manage customer support from initial sales contact through the duration of service
  • Manage marketing and sales efforts

5. Financial Management

  • Maintain and or improve profits margins;
  • Report to owner monthly on deviations from the financial budget.

6. Administrative Management

  • Maintain general oversight and insure A/R, A/P, Inventories are correct;
  • Research new tools and equipment as necessary to accommodate growth

II. Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of experience in management, planning, and financial oversight.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, and evaluation.
  • College graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Proven skills in business leadership and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a staff team.
  • Effective problem solving and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting.
  • Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus.III. Compensation and benefits
