Full Job Description
As the Head of Solutions, reporting to the EVP of North America you will manage a team of distributed Solutions Architects across the United States and Canada markets. As the Manager, you will be responsible for driving the technical solutions with senior management, including sales management, product, engineering and business leaders within our customer and partner base. You will have the technical background to enable fluent conversations supporting our customer’s network infrastructure, cloud interconnection, and software requirements. The Head of Solutions is a key enabler for leading the solution sales across our sales organization in driving long term growth and success of the Megaport platform.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee SA’s providing pre-sales support in the sales cycle by analyzing, coaching and training a distributed workforce towards partner and customer requirements.
  • Support sales opportunities for Megaport by creating and delivering demonstrations to customers and cloud sales partners. Content will include product education and presentations for use by Sales and Tech Sales Teams, specifically as it pertains to integration with our cloud partners product sets.
  • Ability to understand and articulate partner and customer business requirements, developing corresponding network solution architecture designs that leverage Megaport and partner services.
  • Develop industry content key performance indicators for the SA team to generate customer case studies, info papers, knowledge base articles for service deployment, and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of Megaport’s product and service offerings, competitive positioning, and the products of our key cloud services partners we enable access to including Azure, AWS, Google, IBM, Oracle, etc. Provide on-going knowledge-transfer to the Sales, Technical Support, and Marketing teams as well as to our authorized sales partners.
  • Learn and strategically translate in-depth knowledge of industry trends.
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Megaport’s software, API, and be able to engage in technical discussions with our customers, prospects, and prospective partners.
  • Engage and develop tech seller alignment with other Agent Channels, SI, ISV, and cloud partners as needed.

What we are looking for

  • Highly technical, analytical, and personable, possess 7+ years of current Solutions Architecture (implementation/consulting) or Sales Engineering experience. Areas of focus can include: Networking Background in Telecommunications, Data Center and Public Cloud verticals.
  • Hold 3+ years in leadership roles, managing direct technical solution sellers in Sales Engineering and/or Solution Architecture environments.
  • Strong customer presentation and public speaking capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Experience in designing or deploying cloud/virtualization solutions in enterprise customer environments is highly desired.
  • Strong Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 Networking design practices.
  • Experience working within the Enterprise software market or Internet industries is highly desired.
  • Enterprise application and database architecture is a bonus.
  • Internet infrastructure, computer science, or cloud computing background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and engineering technologies are highly desired.
  • Must work successfully in a remote, globally distributed work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 30% of the time.
