The Director, Program Design will have responsbilities in the areas of PD program implementation, professional development program design, and personnel management as detailed within the position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

What you will do:


Oversee and Support the Design and Delivery of PD Programs
  • Oversee and support all aspects of program implementation by regional PD operations teams, including: participating in regular check-ins with regional PD teams, guiding regional PD teams in setting up start-up and sustainability calls, participating in regional PD events and site visits as needed for the purposes of program support and training, and contributing to mid and EOY reports as needed
  • Identify content customization needs during program design, provide support for the coordination of custom PD development, and provide support to regional PD teams and consultants regarding content questions, modifications to content, and logistical concerns
  • Participate in the coordination and training of national consultants and work with regional PD teams to help onboard and train regional consultants, and liaise between regional PD teams and national consultants regarding assignments
  • Participate in national conference planning including development and/or managing development of workshop sessions and lead or participate in development of new PD content as assigned and lead periodic workshops and webinars as assigned
  • Support the design of PD operations resources and materials

Support and Monitor Quality of PD Programs
  • Quality assure program implementation by coordinating efforts with TVP, project manager and/or PD Manager, consultant coaches and client, and monitor program quality through EQI and routine communication and site visits
  • Maintain records of each program implementation including dates, needs assessment reports, coaching logs, implementation plans and email communications as appropriate
  • Review PD evaluations, OWL Coaching data, coaching logs and/or implementation plans and provide feedback
  • Attend a sampling of PD seminars and/or coaching days to provide feedback to consultants and check-in with clients to ensure quality of services

Provide Sales Support and Client Consultation
  • Participate in territory/regional sales strategy by supporting sales and regional PD teams in client consultations with central offices and schools
  • Assists regional PD teams with assessing needs and developing PD plans for clients
  • Support and write content for proposals, including advising on program design and developing language around PD content and implementation
  • Review pricing recommendations for RFPs, proposals and renewals

Design, Develop and Deliver Professional Development
  • Attend national and regional PD events, as needed
  • Develop and lead periodic workshops and webinars as assigned
  • Participate in conference planning (develop or manage development of workshop sessions)
  • Participate in the coordination and training of national and regional coaches, consultants, supervisors, and presenters as a member of the Center for PD Excellence


Effectively supervise all dotted line reports

  • Establish regular communication with direct and dotted-line reports, and their co-managers, to ensure efficient and successful project execution
  • Manage and develop direct and dotted line reports through supervision and performance feedback and contribute to (dotted line) performance evaluations as assigned
  • Direct PD project implementation and evaluation efforts within the territory/region through effective delegation and collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with HR to effectively manage performance of all direct and dotted-line reports

Recruit and Onboard National and Regional PD Specialists as Assigned
  • Recruit quality consultants utilizing CL’s required recruiting processes in response to sales demands for National PD opportunities as needed
  • Provide initial face-to-face or online training for National consultants
  • Provide program training and/or resources as needed to support regional consultants

Manage Utilization and Deployment of National Consultants
  • Work with the sales team and local operators as needed to assign the best possible National consultant to each contract
  • Coordinate with local field teams to ensure equitable and appropriate allocation of consultant talent
  • Laisse with the (PD Operations Coordinator) to oversee and manage the Timewatch system

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Extensive working knowledge of effective instrcutional leadership and pedagogical strategies in a range of content areas, including methods of differentiating instruction and fostering student engagement.
  • Possess an understanding of the College Career Ready Standards, curricula, and assessments
  • 5 years successful experience designing and delivering Professional Development
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of adult learning principles
  • Organizational and planning skills for setting both short term and long range goals, and for
    coordinating efforts for timely accomplishment of those goals.
  • Knowledge of current trends, issues, and challenges of K-12 education
  • Willingness to continually learn new information and skills related to student learning and achievement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology and instructional media tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of management and with clients.
  • Excels in constantly changing environments and adapts flexibly in shifting priorities or objectives.
  • A passion and dedication for improving education through high quality professional development

Educational Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of effective teaching experience
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Education, Literacy, Math or related field
