Sugar Bowl Ski Resort is looking for a Director of Skier Services who will oversee several indoor departments to include ticketing, rental, and retail. Each of these departments relies heavily on “selling” processes, employee knowledge and technology (point of sale setup and administration). It is our goal to have a highly trained, versatile sales force that can be used by different indoor departments depending on the business need of the moment. We desire to create consistent guest treatment and employee knowledge across these indoor departments. This position will be responsible for recruiting, staffing, and training employees.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Oversee operations in Retail, Rental and Ticket Sales Administration
  • Hire, train, provide disciplinary oversight and necessary leadership to managers and staff that operate POS systems in guest facing Skier Services venues
  • Deploy staff as needed to support activities in retail, rentals, tickets, and ski school sales
  • Establish Guest Service Standards and financial goals (labor to revenue, etc.)
  • (ticket sales, rental, retail, ski school lesson rentals)
  • Manage the selling of a wide variety of inventories such as lessons, rentals, retail, lockers
  • Direct and monitor quality of overall departmental operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, accurate sales and alignment with company goals
  • Develop products and programs to be sold by the Skier Services team
  • Manage RTP use, develop reports,
  • Implement guest recovery and escalation processes under what circumstances????
  • Ensure point of sales system health by maintaining on screen product menus
  • Establish controls for fraud prevention
  • Effective dissemination of accurate and current operational information to front lines
  • Order all supplies including ticket and pass stock, printer ribbon, etc.
  • Maintain comp pass administration
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with other departments
  • Ensure labor law compliance
  • Schedule staffing for POS all departments
  • Present during peak periods including holidays and weekends
  • Work with Managers and Supervisors to ensure accountability for the quality of products and services for the guests and employees. Provide feedback, growth opportunities, leadership opportunities and appropriate training to develop Ski and Snowboard and Skier Services leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15+ years of ski industry related experience in the applicable departments
  • Advanced knowledge of ticketing sales processes to include day tickets, season passes, rentals, and ski school
  • Proven ability to recruit and staff skier service departments including supervisory and front line positions
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, develop policy/procedure and training material in addition to delivering seasonal front line training.
  • Proven track record managing and supervising skier services departments with hiring, training employee review authority
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills RTP and technical background a big plus
