Job Summary
Works in concert with the Administrator and directs the nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State, and standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations. The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse Licensure.

Role model for the company’s
Drives ongoing QAA process, oversees milestone plans for performance improvement, and monitors clinical trends and outcomes
Uses TSI reports, CMS reports, current survey status and clinical outcomes to monitor clinical progress monthly
Communicates care delivery trends, issues and opportunities to administration, medical director, and the Quality Assurance Committee
Anticipates customers’ needs and works to minimize potential problems
Participates in and promotes patients’ rights and customer service programs
Ensures staff ability to effectively utilize the compliment/ complaint process
Supports, promotes, and consistently utilizes the QAA process
Ensures ethical care delivery with adherence to corporate compliance and safe business practices

Leadership Fundamentals
Oversees the development of the nursing department structure and roles of each position.
Estabilishes and manages goals and objects for the nursing department through analysis and strategic planning consistent with the company mission.
- Understands and affects the role of the nurse leader with staff through effective team building, motivation, change management, efficient time management, delegation, stress management and effective and timely communication.
Facilitates collegial relationships amoung nurse managers and other healthcare professionals.
- Hires, educates and counsels and nursing leadership team to participate in clinical oversight.
- Maintains and evaluates an environment that empowers and supports nurse managers in problem solving and in decision-making to address identified issues.
- Designs systems of share governance in clinical practice and accountability.
- Ensures availability of nursing leadership team members to accommodate staff educations; to address patient care issues; to meet with family members unavbailable during routine shift hours.
Attends quality and operation reviews for the center with Administrator and Regional Director of Operations.
- Participates in meeting and conducts rounds wiht the Administrator and Regaional Director of Operations.
- Provides leadership to the center in the absence of the Administrator.
Clinical Systems
Promotes nursing process and critical thinking in cursing care delivery.
- Institutes organizational structure and effective communication system, which include all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery and follow-up.
Oversees the consistency of clinical systems within and between clinical units and speciality areas.
Designs systems to plan, promote, develop, assess, interpret, validate and evaluate the implementation of clinical programs, policies, procedures and forms.
- Participates in clinical risk identification, strategy planning, and resk reduction.
- Makdes daily rounds and spot checks documentation accuracy and completeness on new admissions, patients with change in condition, patients triggering occurrence investigations, and patients to be discharged.
- Ensures compliance iwth the FAI, Medicare PPS, Medicaid and Maaged Care processes and are managed within the requiremenets for reimbursement, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Champions the nursing process by analyzing and wvaluating nursing programs and related services rendered to ensure quality patient care systems; mentors staff through the critical thinking process.
- Ensures and evaluates systems to plan, promote, develop, assess, interpret, validate, and evaluate the implementation of clinical programs, policies, procedures and forms.
- Ensures and/o0r provides nursing support facilitate and effective admission process, patient/family education and discharge planning.
Education
Currently licensed as RN in the State of Oklahoma; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
Five years in long term or acute health care perferred; At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
Physical Demands
Lifting 35 lbs. frequently and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. maximum. Talking, hearing and seeing. Working a 12 hours shift when needed.

As required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties
