    COMPANY DESCRIPTION

    We are an innovative start-up learning company gearing up for significant expansion. We work closely with K-12 students and families to provide subject-specific academic enrichment as well as personalized preparation for college admissions tests, customized to their individual needs.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Director of Learning Services will be responsible for managing the firm’s tutors, liaising with clients, enabling tutor-student matching and ensuring the high quality delivery of appropriate learning to students.

    This is a leadership role and the successful candidate will be a self-starter who will take ownership of the delivery of learning services on behalf of the firm.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Recruit and manage high-performing tutors who are committed to outstanding standards of experiential learning and academic enrichment for students

    2. Act as primary point of contact and liaison with clients (families and students), manage client relationships, and build client engagement and loyalty

    3. Assess the learning needs of each student, develop recommended tutoring plans, and manage progress against plans

    4. Enable tutor-student assignment and ensure each student is paired with an appropriate tutor. Build towards successful outcomes for students, their families and tutors.

    5. As a key member of the leadership team, contribute towards the growth and culture of an innovative start-up poised for significant growth

    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Successful track record of achievement in an education-related environment including teaching, school administration, curriculum development, etc.

    2. Solid understanding of educational best practices and student-teacher effectiveness; familiarity with key trends in education; specific knowledge of academic tutoring and college test prep

    3. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with providers and consumers of learning, including teachers, school administrators, parents, and students

    4. The successful candidate must be a consummate professional committed to upholding the highest professional standards

    5. Excellent academic pedigree and a graduate degree in education (completed or in-progress) from a top university strongly preferred

    COMPENSATION

    This is a part-time role, and the initial commitment is for approximately 15-20 hours per week, with the expectation of scaling up with company growth. Compensation will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s record of achievement, and will likely be a combination of base retainer with added performance incentives. The firm’s partners envisage providing long-term incentives for a proven performer who is committed to the firm’s growth and future success.
