SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position will require the management of housekeeping accounts in the Capital Region. The Director, Contract Cleaning Services will manage operations within the Capital Region and surrounding areas by providing excellent customer service and maintain full accountability for handling labor at our diverse range of accounts. He / she will build their team to maximize performance in consistently completing projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment requiring superior planning, organization, and leadership skills. Most importantly, this key player shall be responsible for successfully directing facilities services and activities to ensure client satisfaction and account retention.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide operational leadership, setting the direction for all sites through the role’s direct reports. Manage and direct the development and execution of departmental goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each assigned service area.
  • Apply critical thinking skills and sharp attention to detail in directing the development of operational objectives in compliance with client expectations, service requirements, and LCS goals. Review operational procedures at locations to assure optimal efficiency is achieved.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate, both directly and through the management team, the department’s work; assigning projects and programmatic areas of responsibility; reviewing and evaluating “standard” work methods and procedures; meeting with key team members as required to identify and resolve problems.
  • Oversees the implementation of all necessary and appropriate systems, methods and procedures to deliver operational excellence.
  • Ensures each site operates within contract compliance and within their approved budget. Sets direction and work with LCS managers and customers to ensure compliant and efficient operational processes are implemented; including staff training, review and assurance of proper methods of procedure and working through change control processes.
  • Select, train and evaluate assigned personnel; coordinate staff training; working with managers and employees to correct deficiencies. Direct team members at all levels in providing excellent customer service to all external and internal customers.
  • Contribute leadership skills in managing, mentoring, and motivating staff members, with a strong focus on optimizing productivity and performance.
  • Build top-performing team members vital to supporting enterprise-wide operations.
  • Collaboratively work with team members to design and execute key strategy to support, enhance and grow operations; manage efforts to ensure cost-effective processes.
  • Support the identification of new business opportunities in conjunction with the sales and business development department.
  • Actively support senior management in critical decision-making and business planning initiatives by efficiently compiling and producing detailed variance, operating, and administrative reports for all operational areas.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships to ensure contract retention.
  • Diligently promote a safe and healthy work environment for employees by integrating a comprehensive safety program. Develop safety plans and practices for sites.
  • Creates budgets for LCS departments and customer accounts. Consistently ensures that projects, costs, and expenditures strictly comply with the organizational annual operating budget.
  • Ensures maintenance of ongoing and regular quality assurance and audit check of all accounts; investigating complaints regarding operations and implementing satisfactory solutions. Conducts personal spot check evaluations / assessments of operations at all major job sites.
  • Coordinates walk through process, bid and estimating, and proposal preparation for large scale business opportunities. Provides information to facilitate the rebid and contract negotiation process for contract renewals.
  • Responsible to manage the start-up of operations following the execution of a new contract either directly or through site Managers; ensuring appropriate management oversight after contract becomes operational.
  • Responsible for working with site facility managers and senior operations team members on the selection and monitoring of contractors for special services.
  • Support Facility, Operations and Managers in the management of projects.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum of five (5) Years of Senior Management experience in the cleaning / facilities management area handling a budget of $5MM
  • Strong computer skills

  • Demonstrated leader with past experience in managing large group of managers with substantial teams
