POSITION TITLE: Director of Communications
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Lead Pastor
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt Part-time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance and direction of the Pastor, the Director of Communications will be responsible for:
- Preparing press releases for area publications.
- Maintaining our website and social media presence.
- Preparing our weekly and monthly newsletters.
- Providing consistent messaging across all platforms (print, online, campus).
- Assisting ministry staff with other communications queries as needed.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
The Director of Communication will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Director of Children and Family Ministries. Additionally, they will engage regularly with the congregation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The following skills are valuable a Director of Communications working in a church setting:
- Proficiency with Squarespace website publishing, as well as social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
- Proficiency with image editing software and desktop publishing tools like Microsoft Publisher.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Mailchimp and other email marketing solutions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum education requirement: Bachelorâs degree.
Recommended experience: Two years in an office setting with focus on communications or public relations.
