Position Summary:

The role of the Director of Analytics for the Natural Channel and Client Development will be to provide strategic thought leadership within analytics, solutions development, relationships of third party data providers, process improvement, and project management. Responsible for products, services, and intellectual property focused on analytics or opportunities that drive business value and implement best-in-class solutions and services. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the Natural Channel and Client Development Analytics needs. This role will foster collaboration, discover and implement best practices, and ensure consistent support nationally. This role will focus on implementation of sales and category analysis to maximize the growth and profitability of both our manufacturing clients as well as their respective grocery categories for the Natural Channel.
Responsibilities

  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and set an example as a proactive senior leader and change agent who earns respect by demonstrating a sound understanding of business objectives and goals.
  • Oversee the execution of analytics, spanning both applications and standards, within the Natural Channel and for Client Development activities. Must ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimizing costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of analytics.
  • Continuously strive to find and implement efficiencies and best practices.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork within analytic team.
  • Collaborate to provide category insights and recommendations to internal and external customers.
  • Lead and present projects around product, placement, promotion and pricing.
  • Provide continuous training for sales analyst staff in all aspects of retail analytics, insights, metrics & best practices.
  • Establish and maintain a partnership with our business managers and manufacturing clients to develop strategic objectives and goals for multiple categories within Natural Channel retailer stores.
  • Oversee the work between analysts and business managers to create persuasive arguments for the express purpose of meeting the objectives of the manufacturer and growing baseline sales and profitability for the manufacturer, Client and Customer. Provide feedback and insights.
  • Oversee the creation and utilization of multiple reports to accomplish the above objectives.
  • Monitor the progress of reports, redirecting priorities and helping as needed.
  • Mentor, train, coach and develop Natural Analytics team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times.
  • Conduct performance reviews with each direct report, on an annual basis, at minimum.
  • Plan for, hire, and train new analysts, including maintaining job descriptions and interviewing applicants for your area of responsibility.Qualifications

Experience:

  • Must have 10+ years of prior work experience in data analysis, category management, or similar for a major CPG and/or data provider (IRI, Nielsen, Spins). Experience with emerging brands/startups is also desired.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role.
  • Must be able to demonstrate examples of driving sales growth through data, insights, and story telling.
  • Must have a high degree of proficiency in third party data providers and applications, such as Nielsen, IRI, and Spins with both Point of Sale and Panel data. Retailer gateway or distributor portal experience is a plus.
  • Must have a high degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications.
  • Must have the ability to effectively coach, guide, develop, train, and evaluate direct reports in a performance environment.

Education:

  • 4-year college education or equivalent

Travel:

  • Periodic travel based on business needs.
