Corporate Technology Director – Job Code 1001

Your tasks

Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of corporate processes and technology-based strategic plans in close collaboration with Strategic Business Units, including specialty components, minimally invasive devices, and OEM InHealth products; direct the definition of the technical staffing requirements needed for the development and launch of new products and processes; responsible for the evaluation, recommendation, and development of senior technical resources and staff needed to support international proprietary technology exchange; oversee the development of specialty components, minimally invasive solutions, and ENT devices according to the strategic plan; oversee the provision of guidance, identification, and development of new technology within Strategic Business Units; direct efforts for new strategic technologies, including new materials and processes; direct the development and implementation of proprietary technology projects that involve external resources; consult with the Freudenberg Technology Innovation department to exchange and align with topics and projects that are identified by other Freudenberg entities; manage the coordination of technical resource planning to promote and support business growth; manage the development and implementation of corporate capital planning and strategic business objectives in meetings, defining the annual operations plan (AOP) with GMs of local sites; direct the development and monitoring and execution of Technology Roadmaps for Strategic Business Units; lead bi-monthly Innovation Review Committee meetings to ensure proper execution of innovation projects involving GMs and engineering department heads of each Freudenberg Medical business unit; collaborate with other Freudenberg Group global technical leadership to share and compare knowledge and develop standards; direct the provision of technical support to other Freudenberg Medical activities, projects, and objectives to ensure optimal market access and penetration; create and maintain an efficient network of technical resources, focused on application development at business unit level, ensuring structure, coordination and efficiency; establish and lead the annual technology summit and exchange with the senior engineering staff; lead a Freudenberg Technology Platform to utilize synergies between Freudenberg Business Groups and collaborate in innovation; define, implement and monitor standard tools, processes, and procedures for technology roadmapping, innovation, and technical standards; responsible for the IP policy as a process owner including the overall patent strategy and process for handling and evalutaing invention disclosure reports generating own IP; provide technical support for merger and acquisition processes by providing technical expertise assessing new technologies and evaluating patent portfolios and the specific IP landscape; creates and maintain an efficient network of technical resources focused on application development at business unit level; define, implement and monitor standard tools, processes and procedures for technology roadmap, innovation and technical standards; utilize Liquid Silicone Rubber, Thermoplastics in clean room manufacturing for injection molding and extrusion, strategic planning and technology, roadmaps development, SAP, process analysis, machinery set-up processes, and production start implantation procedures to perform duties; define Standards for machine suppliers in injection molding; create a standard template for molding tool related requests for quotes (RFQ), Standard Project monitoring tool and Innovation initiative templates; travel to corporate facilities throughout the US and globally to support duties; initiate and lead overarching innovation projects and strategic programs including coating, antimicrobial material, UV-cured materials, in coordination with 3rd parties like Universities and corporate R&D.

Our expectations

Education: Master’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Manufacturing, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree).

Training: None

Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as an Operations Manager, as a Product Manager, as a Program Manager, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include five (5) years use of the following: Liquid Silicone Rubber, Thermoplastics in clean room manufacturing for injection molding and extrusion, strategic planning and technology, roadmaps development, SAP, process analysis, machinery set-up processes, and production start implantation procedures.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
