New Transitions Center in Roanoke, TX is looking for one clinical director to join our team in a leadership role. We are located on 212 James Street. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and reliable.
Clinical Director
Reporting to the Board of Directors and the Executive Director the Clinical Director will be responsible for the overarching design, implementation and growth of The Center’s programs and services. This includes the day-to-day oversight of client group and individual programming, staff and volunteers. The Clinical Director strives to provide a supportive environment for participants of the program through engagement, friendship, and creating a space that encourages growth and independence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Daily and Routine Activities
*Ensure that The Center’s policies and procedures for staff and clients are up to code, reflect the mission of our program and ensure the safety of all clients and staff at The Center. *Design, monitor and update the client database for clean maintenance of all clinical records, program data and medication logs *Lead Weekly “Team Huddle” to review staff schedule objectives and expectations. *Oversee special program activities and community engagement activities for clients including coordinator of transportation. *Oversee extended hour activities on a monthly basis.
Planning and Preparation
*Lead client intake process with team staff and advisory board to ensure that individual programming is designed to meet specific goals for families. *Review and advise on a monthly schedule of activities, including a list of needed supplies, extended hours and special community engagement activities designed by the Program Director. *Review and advise on program activity guides that are easy for staff to follow and implement designed by the Program Director. *Prepare and run bi-annual service planning meetings for each client which includes goal planning and progression. *Review and sign off on monthly report regarding each participant’s goals designed by the Program Director. *Ensure a detailed person-centered plan is available to all staff prior to a new client joining the program. *Provide facility tours to prospective clients and coordinate trial days with families of prospective participants. *Ensure participant files are kept up to date with proper information and kept in a secure location. *Renew client consent forms annually.
Leadership
*Identify staff needs and with the Executive Director and assist in the hiring of additional staff. *Establish a Policy Manual, On the Job Training Manual, and train all new support staff upon hire and at annual review dates. *Maintain and update policy manual and general information for clients and staff. *Lead “Advancement” days for program staff. *Prepare and participate in all board meetings and annual visits from state regulatory bodies including DADs. *Plan and initiate annual visits to other Day Habilitation programs in the area for learning purposes annually.
Administrative
*Plan and prepare documents for monthly meetings with Executive Director to review program budget, logistics, timesheets for support staff, reports to the state regarding client attendance and funding. *Establish and implement crisis intervention, emergency response and evacuation guidelines for The Center. *Train and ensure regular review of the above guidelines. *Implement established crisis intervention techniques in response to aggressive, or self-injurious behaviors of participants. *Complete all required programmatic and medical documentation within the designated time frame per regulatory guidelines. *Review all incident reports and immediately notify any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation, to the chairman of the board of directors or designee and appropriate local and state law enforcement offices. *Establish regular communications with all guardians of clients. *Establish client files with emergency contacts, medical information and any other pertinent information. *Other duties as necessary *Ensure facility, staff, and program maintains good standing with MHMR. *Assist Executive Director with fundraising goals as needed. *Maintain the Website, Newsletter, and social media accounts with accurate and up to date information. *Oversee all duties related to Therapy, online documenting system. *Process and submit staff Payroll bi-weekly.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
*The position requires the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, lift arms above head, grasp, twist, fine motor manipulations, talk, hear, and complete repetitive motions. *The position can entail standing for significant periods of time, up to 8 hours or more at a time. *The position requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. *The position involves working in indoor and outdoor environments. The position involves supporting participants at the program and in the community and involves frequent driving. *The position can involve dealing with client physical aggression (being hit, bit, hair pulled, spit at, kicked, etc.) in a calm and therapeutic manner and following proper protocol in such situations. *The position involves being attentive and alert to the environment and client needs for work shifts that can last as long as 8 hours. *The position requires the ability to operate a touch screen tablet and/or computer device to enter data on a daily basis. *The position involves assisting clients with basic care needs (changing diapers on adults, cleaning peri-anal areas after going to the bathroom, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
*Undergraduate Degree in a related field (ie Psychology, Sociology, Social Work and or Education) *Preferred Master’s Degree in related field (ie Psychology, Sociology, Social Work and or Education)
Experience:
*At least 7 years of experience working in leadership capacity in a setting with individuals with special needs. *Demonstrated experience in program development for individuals with special needs
Requirements:
*Fluent in both spoken and written English *Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and valid car insurance required *Must be able to clear a Criminal Record Check, Nurse Aide Registry Check, an Employee Misconduct Registry Check and a Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CNRS) check with no related offenses. *Must successfully complete all MHMR training upon start date.
Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $25.00 – $45.00/hour.
About New Transitions Center: The New Transition Center is a newly formed non-profit and community-based center to enhance the lives of young adults with special needs and the loved ones who support them. The Center is located in the heart of Roanoke, Texas providing structured daily programs and special events including community-based field trips, family support programs and innovative therapeutic workshops to address the unmet needs of this group.
