Job Summary
Requires solid grasp and planning skills in all aspects of the system’s/business project life-cycle, i.e., improvements, user requirements, application configuration and usage using MS Project as the project planning tool. Requires the ability to identify excessive cycle time and/or costs and develop alternative courses of action associated with the project’s life-cycle. Must possess the highest level of technical skills and expertise. Must be fully conversant on issues and current trends as they relate to the banking industry’s products and services. Aptitude to prioritize and analyze a list of measurable product or service characteristics along with associated target values. Ability to set and develop strategic goals and techniques for a project and effectively communicate this to all project team members. Proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations, writing skills and excellent communication strategies.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading, directing, planning, defining and implementing complex projects or initiatives to accomplish goals and business objectives
- Provide project management and comprehensive analysis of complex/critical enterprise projects
- Define and develop the overall plans to meet project goals and objectives utilizing a wide variety of technical and business resources
- Lead project management methodologies and processes including, integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement management.
- Use approved project management techniques to track progress against planned targets throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Track project work and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the project.
- Resolve critical issues, including analysis, solution facilitation, approval, management communication, and implementation. Escalate issues appropriately.
- May handle outside vendors.
- Strong communication/presentation skills – ability to distill complex technology issues for business stakeholders in a clear, concise, audience-appropriate manner
- Develop effective and clear presentations for various audiences including executive management.
- Provide feedback for process improvement, lessons learned, program enhancements, and strategic alignment with business or other programs.
- Build or coordinate development of the project charter, planning stage estimates and approval, communications plan, project governance materials and business case
- Coordinate, track and develop management reporting of concurrent project tasks using MS Project and MS Excel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Completion of PMP or other equivalent certification (preferred)
- 5-8 years of experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., financial, government, healthcare, etc.)
- Ability to manage simultaneous tasks
- Interest in adapting new technologies
- Solid attention to detail
- Experience in the financial services industry
- 5-8 years of experience in technology program management functions
- Ability to travel out of state
