JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations is responsible for innovating and implementing practical and transformative approaches to improve patient care for community pharmacies by leveraging the pharmacists’ expanding scope of practice, and to demonstrate how pharmacists can utilize their expertise to the fullest extent. This role supports new and expanding books of business supporting professional services. This role is responsible to ensure continuity of PrescribeWellness’s brand experience and closely collaborates cross-functionally with sales, data, product management, and operational teams. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general direction, specific duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Engagement/Operations
- Implement and manage the operations cadence process as established by executive operations leadership.
- Oversee documentation retrieval by monitoring documentation performance reports to determine necessary activities, evaluate needed resources and establish timelines for retrieval.
- Implement and execute tactical plans for special projects deployed at an account level in order to drive favorable outcomes.
- Monitor activities of staff to ensure operational metrics are achieved.
- Supervise staff for development, project direction and production quality and quantity.
- Meet financial performance for profitability and operating income by executing strategies that align with the company’s short-term and long-term objectives.
- Responsible for performance coaching/appraisals and the selection, development, training, engagement and retention of team members.
- Review and refine routing for team to identify opportunities for efficiency and productivity. Use reports to evaluate technician productivity and take appropriate action to achieved desired behaviors.
- Supervise team to operate an efficient pharmacy and execute against the department/company business plans/objectives to achieve sales, script growth, margin and profitability and hold entire team accountable.
- Ensure pharmacists are actively building profitable sales and script growth through Clinical Services.
- Manage strategic partnerships to drive engagement and program initiatives.
- Ensure programs are properly implemented and adhered to in order to guarantee a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Meet key stakeholders to address ongoing operations issues and drive accountability with team.
Professional Services
- Create ideas and ways to maximize pharmacy revenue through the development of professional services such as Collaborative Practice Agreements
- Advise on practical implementation of professional programs in pharmacies
- Provide internal and external education of products, communications though marketing, quality assurance, and enhancements
Other Duties
- Provide preceptor guidance to pharmacy interns
o Offer specific training to help interns gain knowledge of the company and pharmacy industry
o Develop and maintain pharmacy school relations
- Assist with business development into new markets, including payers and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Respond to grant opportunities and draft business proposals as assigned.
- Keep abreast of healthcare policy and industry news. Apply insights to inform PrescribeWellness strategies.
- Cultivate a reputation for excellence through conference presentations, social media presence, & client interactions. Ensure positive brand image.

- Experience working with healthcare professionals in a clinical setting.
- Experience implementing programs within and across multiple pharmacies.
- Experience getting pharmacists to implement required program.
- Experience resolving issues that do not have clear answers.
- Highly motivated and possessed excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
- High sense of urgency and accountability

SKILLS, EDUCATION, OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pharmacy degree required with 2 to 5 years of post-graduate experience in the pharmacy and/or healthcare industry.
- Must have worked in community pharmacy setting 2 to 5 years as pharmacist.
- Must have strong clinical skills on up-to-date knowledge of drug information.
- Experience working with healthcare professionals in a clinical setting

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employee, addressing complaints and resolving problems

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work in Company’s office located in Irvine, California.
- Must work in office: Monday – Friday.
- Travel to trade shows, educational or sales events as may be required.
