Responsible for developing and implementing processes to identify, disseminate and monitor funding opportunities relevant to Cleveland Clinic research investigators and will and providing support services to the various Research Development programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and monitoring of department projects.
  • Identify funding opportunities, match opportunities to Cleveland Clinic investigators and develop systematic processes for disseminating the opportunities;
  • Assists in the analysis of funding announcements to determine requirements and develop guidance for proposal teams;
  • Develops and maintains familiarity with sponsor trends and funding opportunities.
  • Guides Faculty/Staff in developing their own independent funding search strategies using multiple resources and annual one-on-one strategy sessions.
  • Maintain proficiency with ORDs electronic application system and grant funding database
  • Assist with the management of our Internal Funding, Limited Submission and Education programs.
  • Participates in achieving operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Participates in preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; participates in resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, determining system improvements and implementing change.
  • Assists in meeting financial objectives by participating in developing forecasting requirements.
  • Participates in preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures.
  • Analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions.
  • Sets and manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
  • Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business Administration, Health Administration preferred.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience coordinating projects preferred.
  • Effective relationship building skills required.
  • Experience performing basic research and statistical analysis, analyze data preferred.
  • Experience in work that requires regular participation in planning and development activities and, as required, independent determination of methods to meet programmatic or administrative goals relevant to the office preferred.
  • Ability to analyze grant guidelines and apply comprehensive knowledge of educational content to grant requirements highly preferred.
  • Additional project management experience may offset the Bachelor’s degree requirement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
  • Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.
