As a Project Manager – Audiovisual Event Production at The Werd Company, you’ll be at the center of the action with The Werd Company’s dynamic and growing Multimedia and Production team in Austin, TX. You will manage many aspects of event A/V production from establishing proposals, finding creative solutions to work within clients’ budget constraints, and maintaining client relationships. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The project manager typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. They will also oversee all phases of events from planning to execution (scheduling, hiring contract labor, communicating details/designs to production team).
What you’ll do:
- Guide projects from beginning to end, while nurturing and growing the relationship between the client and company.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Maintain quality and consistent work across platforms.
- Manage calendar priorities based on events cycle, current projects, compliance needs and changing environment.
- Build insightful and deliberate proposals within our software systems.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis..
- Coordinate and participate in client discovery (walkthroughs or meetings) to gather information integral to planning the event’s audiovisual systems while interacting with clients.
- Prepare summaries of projects to present to the team during weekly meetings.
- Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
- Maintain fixed office hours plus occasional on-site management and client interaction, possibly at non-traditional work hours and holidays.
- Specify equipment necessary for a diverse range of events.
- Attend regular production meetings with Technical Director.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Proven working experience in project management.

- Ability to manage projects and use initiative and judgment within established guidelines.
- Ability to handle last minute changes from a scheduling and equipment standpoint while maintaining a cool, collected mindset.
- Proactively anticipates problems and actively prevents them.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- General working knowledge of how audiovisual systems function and interact with each other.
- Strong organizational skills to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills and a strong ability to offer suggestions and improvements to processes and work effectively across a range of personalities.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Must have a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously acquire new competencies and accept new challenges.
- Very strong technical competency, specifically with the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, GCal)
- Conceptual knowledge of accounting (invoicing, billing, quickbooks, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Asana® or other project management tool is an added benefit.
- Has an openness to learn new technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication with attention to detail.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Has an “above and beyond” mindset.
- Must be persistent in finding solutions until all options are exhausted.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Has a strong existing network of professional colleagues.
Compensation:
- Part Time.
- Starting at $15 per hour.
- Training is paid at base rate of $12 per hour.
Training time period and pay rates will be based on experience and skill.
