Minimum Requirements
Requirements: The qualified candidate for this position must have an associate degree in child development or early childhood education, or the equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development or early
childhood education.) The candidate must have at least two years experience in leadership with the ability to develop and support a team. The candidate must show sensitivity and maturity and be able to relate well with preschool children and adults. The candidate must be willing and able to support the mission of Lydia Home Association.
Job Description
The director/teacher takes the responsibility for planning and implementing all aspects of the early childhood program. Specific responsibilities include operating the center within approved budget; supervising preschool staff and conducting annual performance reviews; maintaining accreditation by IL Department of Children and Family Services and the Council on Accreditation.
