The TEACCH Autism Program at the University of North Carolina is seeking a Clinic Director for our TEACCH Center in Asheville, North Carolina. The Clinic Director will hold a position as Clinical Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (fixed-term faculty), depending on experience, in the Department of Psychiatry, UNC School of Medicine. The TEACCH Autism Program began in 1972 as a system of university-based regional clinics to serve children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. As part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the program has an active clinical, teaching, and research program. TEACCH operates seven community regional clinics across the state, a vocational/residential facility for adults with ASD and an Employment Services program. Each clinic offers a set of core services along with unique programs meeting the needs of individuals with ASD, their families, and professionals across the state of North Carolina. TEACCH is part of the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program and faculty are actively involved in student and professional training activities within the state, nation, and across the world. All TEACCH programs are coordinated through a central administration and research unit in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Asheville TEACCH Center provides autism diagnostic and treatment services for families in Asheville and the surrounding counties. Responsibilities of the TEACCH Clinic Director involve clinical and administrative management duties including training and supervision of a clinical team composed of psychologists and master?s level clinicians. In addition to administrative duties, Clinic Directors maintain a diagnostic and treatment caseload, provide consultation and deliver training programs locally, nationally and internationally. In keeping with the overall mission of TEACCH, the Clinic Director also participates in research and/or the development of innovative care models in addition to clinical activities. This position is open beginning January 1, 2020. Recruitment is ongoing until filled. The ideal candidate will start on or before September 1, 2020.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of North Carolina and credentialed within 30 days of hire. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience. Must have previous clinical training and experience in assessment and treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience.Completion of an APA-accredited PhD/PsyD in clinical, school or related doctoral program, and completion of an APA-accredited internship.
