Job Description
Our Head of Solar Energy Operations will be responsible for the organization and development of our new solar division, will manage field crews to ensure that all of our residential and commercial projects are installed on-time and to our standards. Must recruit and establish a sales and installation team, will ensure that all team members are meeting the schedule, budget, and quality requirements outlined in the project scope, and will effectively manage and mitigate issues that arise internally or on the client side.

- Visit job sites.
- Manage and coordinate job details between the field and office
- Coordinate, supervise and manage solar crews
- Train field staff in safety, work skills, and efficiency
- Maintain understanding of contract information for jobs
- Track labor hours and production against stated goals
- Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages and order materials as needed
- Monitor quality of installations.
- Engage with customers to answer questions and discuss any outstanding issues
- Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs
- Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos and assessments to the office.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code including but not limited to article 690
- Working knowledge of Universal Building Codes.
- Confident leader with the ability to work independently.
- Strong written and oral bi-lingual communication skills and effective listening skills
- Schedule and coordinate with Project Manager all deliveries the date we start kettles, hoisting equipment and labor.
- Constantly monitor all aspect of budget: labor, schedule delays and additional mobilizations.
- Monitor roof installation with plans/specifications/manufacturers recommendations (install correct roof).
- Coordinate schedule with site superintendent.
- Coordinate and complete punch list.
- Coordinate and communicate with Project Managers.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills – must have a solution-oriented, and customer-first mentality.
- 3 t0 5 years of field solar installation experience
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Strong construction knowledge
- Understanding of permitting processes and experience with local and state jurisdictions
- General technical aptitude with computer and mobile-based software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license, ability to pass a background and drug test
- Bi-lingual English â Spanish
- Osha 30 Required
- Willingness to travel
- Familiarity and efficiency with software systems and progress reporting (i.e. spreadsheets, hour logs, scheduling tools).
- Aurora Software knowledge is a Plus.
- Experience with operating equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, and excavators.

Physical Demand
- Able to climb ladders.

- Able to lift 70lbs
- Ability to work in extreme environment (weather changes)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
