Sphere Software is looking for a passionate and motivated Head of Marketing, a key leadership role within Sphere Software’s management team. In this role, you will drive our go-to-market strategy and handle the overall Sphere brand. The Head of Marketing will support the sales and services team’s efforts across services marketing, marketing communications, PR, and conference/events in order to deliver a clear message that reaches a wide range of audiences and build a community of Sphere customers and prospects.

The ideal candidate will have past leadership/management experience in the marketing organization of software product or services firms, with good understanding of the software space and how to use marketing to boost sales, increase Sphere’s brand recognition and help increase revenue and reach target goals.

Daily responsibilities:

  • Establish a vision for the Sphere brand. Understand customer needs and ensure our go-to-market strategy is aligned to meet these customer needs and foster growth.
  • Oversee all marketing materials, creative assets, and website – consistently ensuring Sphere’s brand is represented in the best way possible.
  • Lead Sphere’s content strategy, including case studies, blog posts, new services offerings, events, conferences, meetups, and more.
  • Work closely with Sales leadership to develop the right mix of Inbound Marketing and Account-Based Marketing to drive a single, unified go-to-market strategy
  • Manage budget and lead different activities to support the sales and services teams such as field events, customer activities, user groups, industry events/trade shows, and PR.
  • Grow and develop a metrics-driven marketing team.
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on competitor positioning.
  • Develop marketing automation workflows.
  • Own the marketing-sourced pipeline goals for the Sales team across all segments and geographies.
  • Working closely with the Professional Service organization, build capabilities to develop marketing operations services that will be part of Sphere’s professional services offerings, such as:
    • Marketing Strategy (marketing campaign design and automation)
    • Campaign implementation (email marketing, campaign management and delivery)
    • Advisory services on marketing tools and best practices
    • Campaign analytics (customer 360 view, executive dashboards and reporting)
  • Continuously learn more about Sphere’s services and offerings and provide ideas and feedback for improvement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience and leadership in enterprise software marketing required; experience with software services marketing highly desired.
  • Experience defining marketing goals and objectives in conjunction with Sales to hit growth targets
  • Ability to develop, execute, and communicate a long-term strategic vision, while also balancing immediate priorities and opportunities.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability to attract, develop, manage and mentor top talent
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
  • Proven track record of building and leading successful demand generation marketing initiatives across channels, lifecycle stages, and for various global audiences and buyer personas.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create effective messaging and tell compelling stories about our services and offerings to any audience – whether it’s our consumers, internal team, or industry at large.
  • Expertise with data, both as the basis of driving inbound/outbound/account progress and for analysis of program results/ROI.
  • In-depth knowledge of CRM and marketing automation solutions (e.g., Salesforce.com, Marketo, et al).
  • Experience providing advisory services and leadership regarding marketing strategy, campaigns implementation, tools and best practices.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow along with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • College degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a technical field; an MBA is a plus.
