LEADER, GLOBAL CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

The Leader, Global Corporate Communications is responsible for developing and leading ZS’s communications strategy and execution. He or she supports executive leadership as a communications advisor and strategist, and oversees executive/strategic communications, internal communications and talent/recruiting communications.

The Leader will develop a coordinated, enterprise-wide corporate communications strategy and will set measurable objectives for the communications function. He/she will support communications and change management initiatives through targeted strategies, proper resource allocation and effective agency selection and management. The Leader will refine and enliven the ZS employer brand and value proposition through all communications.

Reporting into the Global Head of Marketing & Communications, this role oversees a diverse and global team (based both in the U.S. and India) tasked with managing critical ZS corporate communications functions. The responsibilities of this role require an experienced, global leader who can inspire, manage and develop the global team, engage with key ZS stakeholders (Managing Principal, Regional Managing Principals, etc.) and oversee and manage the fiduciary responsibility of the function.


Responsibilities
:

  • Develop a coordinated, enterprise-wide corporate communications strategy
  • Set measurable objectives for the communications function, continuously assessing channel effectiveness and making changes as needed
  • Support executive/strategic communications, internal communications, talent/recruiting communications and change management initiatives through sound strategy and resource allocation
  • Engage with and advise ZS leadership and stakeholders on communication best practices, strategies and tactics
  • Manage internal communication channels, such as the ZS intranet, e-newsletter, digital screens, leadership messaging, etc.
  • In collaboration with the ZS Recruiting team, help build the ZS employer brand globally through innovative external messaging and recruiting marketing & communications campaigns
  • Create and deploy innovative messaging that engages, informs and inspires ZS employees
  • Understand target buyer needs, market trends and the competitive landscape
  • Work with digital/social media marketing teams to develop corporate social media strategy and governance
  • Support sales enablement plans and tactics and oversee communications team contributions to drive sales’ adoption of the portfolio
  • Liaise with content/editorial team and external agencies tasked with creating effective content for Web sites, corporate campaigns and employer brand/recruiting initiatives
  • Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to guide the global communications team in its day-to-day activities; foster a “one global team” mentality, ensuring alignment on team-level best practices, major initiatives, stakeholder engagement and work produced
  • Manage the hiring, development and retention of communications team talent
  • Strengthen and formalize processes, measurement tools and reporting structure to support the communications team’s goals
  • Oversee the selection of agencies and manage these critical relationships


Skills:

  • Deep corporate communications experience, preferably at global, matrixed organizations

  • People management, including the ability to build and grow a team and work with diverse skill sets and backgrounds
  • Ability to translate complex business and stakeholder needs into effective narratives and messages for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to lead multiple, complex projects simultaneously, sometimes with limited guidance, prioritizing as needed to meet deadlines
  • Strong administrative and management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects, programs and objectives
  • Critical thinking and capacity for innovation
  • Ability to listen and interpret needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills


Background/Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field; master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) preferred
  • Ten to 15 years relevant work experience in multi-national professional services environment with demonstrated experience in the scope of this role
  • Management of communications across multiple complex stakeholder groups at a local, regional, national and international scale
  • Demonstrated ability to link communications efforts to an organization’s broader strategic plan
  • Experience adapting global strategies to the local context
  • Experience leading and motivating a global team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal client relationships, and adeptly navigate cultural nuances and internal politics
  • Demonstrated success influencing C-level executives and cross-functional leaders
  • Management of budget and resource allocation to support success and efficiency
  • Consulting experience is a plus

ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
