Working directly with the Chief Digital Information Officer and working closely with the Digital Project Coordinator, the Digital Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of implementation of interactive development from design and concept through implementation. They will manage all aspects of cross-departmental digital projects, including scheduling weekly meetings and distributing agendas and minutes. Other responsibilities include writing contracts and statements of work, website content editing, tracking web development requests, and drafting papers and digital communication on ARTLENS Gallery, as well as managing the various technical projects relating to Digital Innovation and Technology Services and ARTLENS Gallery. This position will work collaboratively with museum staff across departments and liaise with outside vendors and contractors.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Information Science, Museum Studies, or related field, or equivalent experience with demonstrated high achievement.
  • Comprehensive high-level understanding of and experience with business project management.
  • Ability to distill and communicate complex concepts
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Understanding of database and back-end development.
  • Experience working with web platforms and digital content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with collection management systems or art history is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the museum’s digital strategy and current technological infrastructure. Apply that knowledge to the museum’s short and long-term goals to facilitate optimized workflow and understanding between departments.
  • Co-lead the web editing team and communicate web development requests to web developer.
  • Create statements of work, track requests, test, and maintain schedule.
  • Participate materially in drafting contract specifications to ensure language clearly and concisely specifies desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate development to ensure brand consistency across the museum’s digital offerings.
  • Rigorously test and analyze vendor deliverables to verify consistency with specifications.
  • Act as translator with the Interpretation, Design, and Curatorial departments to meet the needs and goals of digital interpretation for exhibitions.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications department to promote digital initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline process and workflows for data collection, processing and analysis tasks.
  • Use digital analytics to support research and leadership-level decision-making for digital projects.
  • Act as primary liaison between development and user support for public-facing apps and interactives, providing maintenance checklists and training, as well as tier-two-level troubleshooting.
  • Identify and advocate for creative technological solutions to further the museum’s goals, that align with established digital strategy objectives and the museum’s strategic plan and budget goals.
  • Participate in Digital Innovation and Technology Services departmental meetings to identify common needs and ensure common direction.
  • Perform system administration tasks for app/interactive support as necessary, such as drafting presentations, papers, grant applications, and awards applications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CDIO.
