Continuous Improvement Project Manager

Objective:

Manage and implement the PPS System. Develop and implement cost savings while continually improving manufacturing, administrative, and distribution processes at Morgan Olson.

Essential Functions and Activities:

• Manages the development and implementation of the PPS system including lean tools.
• Initiate and identify cost improvement initiatives to meet Morgan Olson objectives.
• Leads continuous improvement efforts which includes lay out improvement, flow process improvement and applying best practices.
• Support, mentor and train the select core implementation team members and introduce them to the value steam management process, 5S, visual controls, VFM, Kanban Daily MDI, etc.
• Mentor and train all other team members and management in Lean activities.
• Implement the value stream management process (in all Sites this includes non-manufacturing processes) and track results.
• Identify current state value streams and initiatives to transition to ideal future state condition utilizing value stream mapping tools to identify and prioritize initiatives across all business sites and units.
• Identify and remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement process.
• Corporate communication and presentation.
• Sustaining and improving the PPS Board system.
• Supports and participates in Morgan Olson’s PPS team efforts.
• Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
• Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
5-7 years in business experience, driving team excellence, and managing people
Proven leadership skills (lead, motivate, process and people management skills) Excellent communication skills
Experience in improvement processes (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
Good analytical skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision/guidance
Computer literacy with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
