Part-Time – Salaried

Purpose

The purpose of this job is to lead the Adult Choir in weekly special and service music presentation during Sunday worship.

Focus

Major areas of focus in this job are:

· Choral music preparation and presentation during Sunday worship.

· To encourage participation and appreciation for the wide variety of worship music within the congregation.

· To provide spiritual as well as musical leadership and direction to the Adult Choir members.

Task List

· Develop and plan the weekly worship music of the church.

· Develop and train the members of the Adult Choir in good vocal and choral technique.

· Plan and effectively execute weekly Adult Choir rehearsals.

· Support new musical ensembles within the church: handbells/chimes, children’s choirs, youth choirs, and special ensembles.

· Attend worship planning meetings.

· Build up and manage the choir music library.

· Communicate all plans effectively with the Pastor and other supporting members.

· Attend church meetings as required to effectively perform ministry tasks.

· Care and maintenance of the musical instruments of the church.

· Oversee, update, and monitor the CCLI license of the church and report church activity to CCLI.

Amount of Supervision Expected

· Upon completion of training, handle regularly assigned tasks independently.

· Receive guidance from the Pastor and other supportive members on new and complex tasks.

· Provide guidance to Adult Choir members during all rehearsals.

Critical Success Factors

· Increased participation in the Adult Choir.

· Excellence in musical presentations during worship and at special presentations.

· Build effective spiritual and community relationships within the choir and church.

General

· Represent the church in a professional manner.

· Adhere to all church policies and procedures.

· Recommend improvements in assigned tasks to Pastor and appropriate committees.
