The Assistant Director for Challenge Course and Team Building is responsible for providing exemplary outdoor experiential learning and development opportunities for the UNC Charlotte community and external clients with primary responsibility for managing the Challenge Course program; facilities and equipment; recruitment, training, retention and supervision of Challenge Course program facilitators and course managers; scheduling and contracting with clients; and serving as a Challenge Course program facilitator as appropriate. The Assistant Director teaches academic classes as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

? A Master?s Degree in Education, Recreation, Student Personnel and Guidance or related field. ? Excellent organization skills including development of workflow and communication systems, delegation, and follow-up. ? A minimum of three years of experience in the profession with an appropriate balance of program development, field and classroom instruction, supervisory skills and/or administrative experience. ? Demonstrated skills facilitating low and high challenge course programs and team building exercises ? Detailed understanding of industry standards and best practices in challenge course programming and coordination of inspection and maintenance. ? Willingness and flexibility to work with students and staff in unstructured situations including evening and weekend work. ? Commitment to the pursuit of challenge course programming as a tool for education, leadership development and identity/character formation.
