Seeking Senior Director to lead one of Merkleâs global strategic business to business accounts with a diverse portfolio of chemical products and solutions spanning ten distinct vertical lines of business including polymers, paints and inks, electronics, automotive, paints, personal care, and food ingredients.
The Senior Director is responsible for the overall enterprise scale website and ecommerce redesign and technology replatforming, sales enablement optimization and lead management CRM implementation engagement working with a large team of agency service lines as well as management and executive level client stakeholders.
The role sits within the accounts Merkle Project Management Office leadership team and is responsible with overseeing deliverable management to ensure programs we lead are on time, on budget and accurate. The role will be supported by agency project managers, strategy, analytics, creative, content, experience design, campaign, web, ecommerce, and CRM technology team leaders.
This role has frequent and detailed discussions with our most senior client stakeholders which requires strong B2B strategy, digital experience, marketing, sales enablement, and technical knowledge, and a background in lead generation and customer acquisition programs on a regional and global scale.
This individual must be skilled in having difficult client and employee conversations within the context of account management and consistently demonstrate an advanced ability to rally a team to deliver high client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with the client by ensuring the successful execution of projects, deliverables and putting forth strategic business and technology recommendations using their B2B, digital experience, CRM and/or industry knowledge.
- Manage the accounts financial logistics including travel pre-authorization communications, billing, hours reconciliation, budget efficiency and burndown reporting in conjunction with the program management team
- Operate as part of cross-capability team including marketing strategy, creative, technology, media, and production to deliver seamless execution of multiple work tracks, initiatives, and cross agency network teams.
- Ask questions and foresee issues relative to multiple work tracks covering governance, marketing strategy, digital experience, and CRM
- Ability to navigate a highly matrixed and consensus driven client organization to lead teams across functional areas, ensure all members are meeting deliverables, and resolve all issues both with client and internally relative to all facets of client engagement
- Drive a compelling marketing and lead generation strategy point of view related to the ability to utilize both known and anonymous information to inform delivery of personalized experiences to B2B buyers

Provide expertise, knowledge, and industry best practices across digital technology components including:
- Content Management System
- Digital Asset Management
- Ecommerce
- CRM with a focus on lead generation management
- Collaboratively work with and co-lead agency experts in B2B strategy, creative, experience design, web development, web, analytics, data lake, BI and CRM technology deployments to deliver an integrated solution spanning three distinct brands over four major markets in the Americas and Europe
- Translate digital experience and technology investments into direct and measurable business results
- Collaborate with digital teams to develop strategic and technical solutions that will enable the advancement of digital media programs including paid search, professional social, YouTube, and some display media for niche on-line publications
- Build a bridge to future contracts that will include strategy and implementation of email service provider platform, marketing automation, and expanded integrated cross-channel media campaigns
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing, client services, and/or strategy preferably in B2B
- Proven track record of driving new customer acquisition through lead generation
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, grammatical and proofing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects, relationships, and tasks simultaneously
- Extreme attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
- Managerial experience a plus
- Excellent client management, expectation management, negotiation, and conflict resolution communication skills
- Background in interactive digital marketing with experience in web-related production is preferred
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to travel in the US and internationally when necessary up to 25% of time
