Scrum Master-Birmingham, AL (Onsite)
Contract- 12 months
The Scrum Master, along with the scrum team, a group of software developers, and a product owner, is responsible for delivering high-value products to the Company using Agile and Scrum principles and practices.
The Scrum Master will monitor, communicate, schedule, and plan, all aspects of the Agile process. This positon will work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical staff and will ensure consistent processes across all teams.
The Scrum Master is a communicative and well-organized servant-leader who acts as facilitator and coach, and in other support roles as needed. This position will support and educate the product owner, with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
· Guide and coach a scrum team using scrum/agile principles.
· Organize and facilitate various product meetings:
- daily scrum or stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review – planning and grooming meetings
- sprint retrospectives
· Write or assist in writing user stories.
· Work with the product owner to ensure that the product and sprint backlogs are understood, prioritized, and
ready to be worked when needed.
· Identify and remove impediments, dependencies, or roadblocks.
· Support and educate the product owner, with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
· Maintain regular attendance in accordance with departmental guidelines.
· Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Skills
· Knowledge of iterative development
· Knowledge of basic fundamentals around software development processes and procedures
· Knowledge of incremental delivery and the value of metrics
· Knowledge of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
· Knowledge of common Agile practices
· Ability to facilitate a discussion – including decision making abilities, and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I)
· Experience/Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) or other testing methodologies
· Experience/ Knowledge of Continuous Integration or Software Delivery Pipelines
· Experience as a Scrum Master on a team delivering software applications using an Agile methodology such as SCRUM, Kanban, etc.
· Experience writing user stories
