Responsibilities:
  • Defines departmental and team member goals with measurable outcomes in accuracy, timeliness, productivity and service quality
  • Assigns responsibilities based on skills, experience, bandwidth, and individual opportunities for growth
  • Monitors departmental reporting and dashboards to ensure goals are being met, identifies trends and is able to explain variances
  • Ensures EDI validation and implementation process for submission of clean claims, builds analytics that drive team processing which reduces and avoids denials and failed claims
  • Manages resolving issues timely and with high quality, engages directly as needed
  • Drives root cause analysis, focus on systemic solution and appropriate remediation efforts
  • Escalates concerns/issues and mitigation recommendations to senior leadership
  • Provides guidance to team to enable understanding and ability to explain revenue cycle management (billing) requirements and importance to obtain IT, Client and Vendor cooperation
  • Manages individual and team performance and continuously develops skills and knowledge base to build and maintain a high-performing team
  • Provides and promotes excellent customer service
  • Continuous technology improvement, including staying current with the latest EDI standards, architecture, analysis & design and product releases
  • Evaluates SOP accuracy and coverage, improves and ensures adherence


Requirements

License/Certification/ Education: Normally a B.A./B.S. Degree in related field w/5-7 years of experience.
  • Experience in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) with large healthcare revenue cycle management (billing) system covering multiple sites and payers, preferred.
  • Communicates complex information simply, clear, concise conveyance of key points, targeted for specific audience
  • Technically inclined and able to communicate effectively with technical contacts, while able to simplify and ensures understanding by non-technical stakeholders
  • Technical experience of healthcare data and industry drive changes including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), HL7, and Healthcare x12 transactions, preferred
  • High aptitude to learn and teach others new tools, programs, integrations, and business processes
  • Tenacity in coordination of team members to meet or exceed timelines and outcomes
  • Ability to gain the cooperation of others in pursuit of company goals
  • Strong work ethic with proven track record of accuracy, dependability and consistency, with the same expectations of team members
