As a world-class retail and entertainment destination, American Dream is being developed by Triple Five Group, owners of the two largest shopping and entertainment centers in North America – Mall of America and West Edmonton Mall.

Opening in 2019, American Dream is approximately 3 million square feet and will redefine the customer experience in shopping and leisure with a unique combination of retail, dining, technology, entertainment and attractions – all in one location. Anchor tenant Saks Fifth Avenue – along with over 450 retail, food and specialty shops – are complimented by North America’s largest fully-enclosed indoor DreamWorks Water Park and Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park; a 16-story Big Snow Indoor Ski & Snow Park; Kidzania; a live Performing Arts Theater; 285-foot tall Observation Wheel; luxury movie theatres by Cinemex; Sea Life Aquarium, Lego Discovery Center; NHL-size Ice Rink; and two 18-hole miniature golf attractions. The center also features The Collections – a luxury and fashion area in the property and The Dining Terrace – a collection of fifteen full-service restaurants showcased in one location in the center.

Key Objective(s):

The main purpose of the Sponsorship Director is:

  • To direct and develop strategies (internal and external) to generate revenue for American Dream and its attractions. Create one of kind packages/platforms that drives American Dream sponsor/partner exposure, engagement and sales. Ensure guests to American Dream have a memorable/social experience with our partners. Oversee the implementation and fulfillment of all the sponsor contracts.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Secure multiyear/multimillion-dollar sponsorships for American Dream and American Dream Attractions
  • Craft specific partner packages/decks with new and innovative ideas that feature one-of-a-kind assets at American Dream to meet and exceed partner marketing and business goals
  • Self-starter with proven ability to research and identify prospective sponsors, partners and new business opportunities across targeted categories in a competitive landscape
  • Liaise across internal and external sponsorship, partnership and leasing teams to understand partner/prospect needs and objectives to create compelling, customized partnership opportunities
  • Make personal contacts with existing and potential sponsorship partners, negotiate and/or help close the arrangement
  • Maintain a consistent pulse on cultural landscape (music, art, film, fashion, culinary); understand what’s relevant, trending and next
  • Find new ways to activate our brand and those of our partners and sponsors by consistently bringing new and fresh ideas to the table that surprise and wow American Dream visitors
  • Develop and maintain planning and reporting documents, re-caps and spreadsheets, reporting tools and dashboards to provide senior management status reports, revenue trends, and forecasting.
  • Assist SVP, Marketing with long and short-term strategic partnership and sponsorship planning, P&L management, and sales strategy calendar
  • Direct and assist in fulfillment of all sponsor/media contracts
  • Direct liaison efforts with external agencies and clients


Desired Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Business or Marketing
  • Personal relationships/rolodex with C-level executives at top companies
  • Minimum of 10 years in sponsorship sales/marketing experience preferably with an entertainment venue or sports team
  • Passion for the destination entertainment, retail, dining, events and experiential marketing
  • Experience in management of a clients, staff
  • Knowledge of the sponsorship space, sales, marketing and corporate community strategies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; easily adapts to digital team/project management software and systems. InDesign a plus, but not required
