Summary:

The Infrastructure and Network Operations Manager leads the team responsible for supporting the company s LANs and WANs. His or her team, following a change management process, manages changes in the network, including equipment installation, software upgrades and patching in a manner to minimize disruption of business operations. In cases of a failure, they must respond rapidly to diagnose and execute repairs and shorten the downtime with follow up on root cause and corrective actions.

In addition to network operations, the manager will have responsibilities managing the day to day operations of the Service Desk. Duties include: monitoring of open service requests, auditing team performance, establishing procedures and metrics, follow up with customers, technical escalation point, and most importantly maintaining a high level of customer service. Essential to this role is building strong customer relationships and understanding the business needs.

The manager will work closely with the Security and Business Continuity Manager, as the threat against the corporate networks, data and communications is constant.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and oversees the maintenance of all assets for the data center, networks, and other infrastructure.
  • Designs, configures and ensures the ongoing monitoring and health of the network, providing analysis, establishing metrics/SLAS and making proactive recommendations for upgrades and future needs.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for all IT infrastructure operating environments as well as network operations documentation; including but not limited to: network topology diagrams, troubleshooting guides, support and change requests, project plans, incident response, and procurement requests.
  • Review and approve network design recommendations and implementation services by third party vendors and business partners.
  • Creates and reviews monthly reports relating to systems access, license management, vulnerability management, systems availability, performance monitoring, network traffic use and utilization, and anomalous security events.
  • Establishes, implements, and enforces change management practices, policies and procedure standards as well as documented procedures for any critical events that require remediation.
  • Serves as the senior-level technical escalation point as well as Change Manager for infrastructure staff that responds and resolves all infrastructure operational issues.
  • Coordinates multiple business unit monthly meetings; tracking and reporting on key initiatives.
  • Evaluates and procures computer and network hardware and software that supports the needs of the company.
  • Responsible for creating project plans and tracking the delivery of work according to established timelines and reporting status to the IT Director and Executive team.
  • Responsible for working with the IT Director to establish a portfolio of service offerings for Soave s diverse business units.
  • Researches vendors, partners for future projects as well as managing those resources, projects and relationships.
  • Works closely with IT Security and Business Continuity Manager to respond to threats as well as actively participate in evaluating and implementing new security technologies.
  • Mentor and coach team members on technical issues and develops technical skills in others.
  • Supervises employees including selecting, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and/or terminating.
  • Assists the IT Director in preparation for audits, annual budgets, and capital expenditures including business case development.
  • Required to keep abreast of new technologies through training, and proactive research.
  • On-call responsibilities and some travel will be required < 10%

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Security or a related field from an accredited University.
  • Information Technology related certifications, focus on network and systems administration, Microsoft, VMware, A+, Net+, etc. are a plus.
  • Sound understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Good understanding of IT Service Management framework and principles, preferably Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certified.
  • Experience with multi-location business enterprise and technical centralization.
  • 8 to 10 years of professional IT infrastructure hands-on experience required in Systems Administration, Network Administration, and/or Security Administration. The candidate will be expected to step in with technical duties when need arises.
  • 5 years of managerial experience with at least 3 direct reports with Systems Administration, Network Administrators, and/or Security Administrators roles.
  • Hardware and Technologies used: Active Directory, O365, VMWare, Cisco switching/firewalls, Meraki, Cisco switches, Cisco Anyconnect, Dell Compellent, Dell EqualLogic, EMC VNX, Quest Rapid Recovery, SOPHOS, Umbrella, AlientVault, Proofpoint.
  • Able to pass the required background check and drug screening.
