Amazon.com is seeking a highly-intelligent and experienced public relations professional to support our rapidly growing and evolving global digital video and music services, Prime Video & Amazon Music, in Asian Pacific territories, Canada, Australia and India. Prime Video and Amazon Music are changing the way people consume and enjoy entertainment. As Head of Entertainment PR (Video and Music), Asia Pacific, Canada, Australia, and India the successful candidate will partner and collaborate with global PR teams and key business leaders to imagine, develop and execute communications programs and publicity campaigns designed to support the global digital video business and its rapid growth in India, Japan, Australia, Canada, India and in emerging APAC countries. The candidate, based in Seattle, WA, will lead regional in-country PR teams, and be responsible for the proactive communication of our successful streaming services and promotion of our popular Amazon Original series and exclusive content across both video and music. As cross-regional PR lead, she/he will be relied upon as a key advisor to senior business leaders and international PR colleagues and support global campaigns taking into consideration cultural nuances for impactful regional media strategies. The right candidate should have 15+ years of experience in entertainment PR, preferably in business-to-consumer in-house or at a PR agency, and multi-year experience in leading cross-regional teams.

The successful candidate must have extraordinary high-judgment, excellent communications skills, exemplary writing ability, exceptional initiative, strong project management skills and a talent for effectively managing projects across international teams with complex communication challenges. She/he should have experience working with high standards under tight deadlines and be flexible to manage ambiguity as priorities change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Amazon Entertainment’s overall brand and content PR strategy in Asian Pacific territories, Canada, Australia, India
  • Plan and execute a cross-regional strategic communications plan to support the Prime Video and Amazon Music businesses.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of regional PR strategies and publicity campaigns for the in-house US and local productions of Amazon Studios, and the extensive regional movie and TV portfolio of Amazon Video, at times leveraging talent for press opportunities.
  • Work closely with leadership across Prime Video and Amazon Music businesses including content teams, marketing teams, social media teams and external PR agencies to develop proactive media opportunities and narratives.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior business leaders.
  • Work closely with the cross-regional leads in the US, EMEA and Latin America to ensure consistency of company-wide communication, share worldwide best practices, capitalize on opportunities globally and develop impactful regional media strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant media
  • Manage an internal team of PR professionals and external public relations agencies on strategy and day-to-day matters.
  • Handle issues management.
  • Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson for assigned businesses as necessary.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and organization to produce effective results.
  • Keep current on trends, issues and news about both the business and consumer worlds of media/entertainment.
  • Manage overall budget.

  • Master’s degree.
  • Multi-year experience in managing cross-regional teams in the media/entertainment industry.
  • Strong English oral and written language skills.
