Job Description:
The Field Manager is located in Moab, Utah, and serves as the primary functional area lead for the field elements of the Technical Assistance Contractor staff located at the Moab and Crescent Junction sites. Responsibilities include supervision of staff performing groundwater actions, environmental air monitoring, meterological monitoring, radiological surveys of properties in and around Moab, revegetation of non-contaminated areas, and independent verification of remediation performed by the Remedial Action Contractor (RAC). The Field Manager is responsible for daily supervision and scheduling of personnel and interacting with other site contractors and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Job Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities consist of but are not limited to the following:

Establish project budgets, resource levels, and communicates needs and requirements to the Senior Program Manager.

Approves field reports, studies, and calculations as required.

Generate staff performance reviews, staff training plans, and staffing allocation plans with the goal of ensuring continuous career development for current staff while simultaneously meeting customer requirements and company goals.

Responsible for identifying process improvement goals and establishing a plan for accomplishing those goals.

Works closely with managers to continuously improve the quality of support provided to the DOE and RAC partners.

Translates or explains what information means and how it can be used and analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Regularly meets with customer representatives to validate requirements and confirm that associated staff skill allocations are consistent with meeting those requirements.

Lead conferences/meetings with client to establish project objectives and resolve all levels of design problems.

Prepares reports and recommends corrective actions.

Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, partner contractors, and visitors.

Provides support for public, stakeholder and/or regulatory agency reviews, and/or meetings including tours.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in a related field (e.g., engineering or physical sciences). Significant experience in the position of technical lead (or equivalent) of field efforts for environmental remediation, construction, and radiological work. Significant experience is typically achieved after 20 years of progressively responsible experience, usually including at least 5 years as a lead. Previous additional work experience may be substituted for education requirements. Experience or training in safety, work scheduling, DOE Integrated Safety Management, radiological controls, and hazardous waste operations is desired. Required DOE environmental cleanup experience.

Language Skills:
Must possess an excellent command of the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as MIL-Spec’s, schematics, technical data packages and drawings is preferred. This position requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Successfully perform advanced mathematical functions as required.

Reasoning Ability:
Demonstrate and apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess problem solving skills and the capability to organize and prioritize daily work schedule in keeping with productivity standards.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have demonstrable fluency with computers, software and general office equipment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current driver’s license; Proof of U.S. Citizenship; the ability to obtain security clearance enabling access to various government facilities.
