EDP Design & Controls Architect, Vice President
Job Summary
The Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Design & Controls team seeks a dynamic technologist to architect and implement a robust Reconciliations and Adjustments Framework that will integrate with Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). The Architect and Development Team Lead partners with different development teams to deliver integration solutions that are aligned with the target state design principles. You will join a high profile lean and agile team that will focus on building the firm’s next generation data services platform.
Major Responsibilities
- Architect and Implement end to end controls in EDP in support of Data Management Integrated Controls Framework (DMICF)
- Design and develop highly available distributed system to extract, transform and load (ETL) data from disparate sources across the organization; Build real-time analytics integrations with state-of-the-art digital banking systems
- Design and build RESTful APIs, Automated Testing Systems, Event Monitoring and Notification Systems
- Understand the process of reconciling source systems daily balances from systems such as Consumer Loans, Commercial Loans, Global Capital Markets, Deposits to the General Ledger
- Collaborate with internal business and technology owners and identify opportunities to solve business needs
- Design and Deliver standard output formats (SOFs), as they pertain to G/L or financial domain, for downstream consumers
- Work with partners including the Business, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Chief Data Office to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Determine and manage deployment activities between development/test and production
- Organize and manage the interface for source systems and general ledger data to a reconciliation and adjustments tool for both inbound and outbound traffic
- Handle user inquires and provide level 3 production support including Onsite/Offshore collaboration as needed
- Maintain best practices to facilitate optimized software development and continuous improvement/delivery (CI/CD)
- Additional responsibilities may include Data Quality Design and Implementation in EDP for Key Data Elements (KDEs)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum ten years of experience in designing, developing and delivering critical service solutions within a large, complex IT environment, possessing expert-level skills in the following areas: Data Warehousing Solutions, G/L Reconciliations and Audit Controls, ETL Software, Service-Oriented Architectures
- Hands-on experience in various programming languages like Python, Java as well as UNIX/Linux
- Experience with the ETL (Wherescape RED, Wherescape Streaming, Streamsets, SOAP API) toolsets a plus
- Working knowledge of banking business systems and applications
- Experience with system interfaces (file-based, web services, etc).
- Hands-on experience in designing and using relational databases like SqlServer, Oracle
- Hands-on experience in advanced SQL
- Hands-on experience in Enterprise Schedulers (such as Autosys)
- Familiar with DevOps toolchain, i.e. BitBucket, JIRA, Jenkins Pipeline, etc.,
- Knowledge of cloud based architecture and solution is a big plus (AWS preferred)
- Awareness of data governance aspects like metadata, business glossaries, canonical models, etc
- Experience integrating new technology and platforms with critical legacy systems
- Ability to stitch best of breed tools and practices together to solve business problems
- Deep knowledge in design principles, break/fix management and code management
- Consistent track record of developing, deploying and delivering quality solutions
- Strong communication, collaborative & presentation skills
- Often the “go to” person for the hard technical challenges that others avoid
- Solid analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and problem-solution skills
- Solid presentation and technical and non-technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience developing and/or using enterprise dashboard and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau or Business Objects, etc)
